I very much doubt Vancouver is willing to actually make that trade, but the Sabres would take it and run. Even if they had to cancel Virtanen’s contract due to his pending legal issues.

Still finishing bottom of the north, might want to move an older player for a younger one who can still play C

Most Van fans think Quinn Hughes is the best thing since sliced bread but a few Van Fans want to trade QH because they think his value will never be higher and that he's way overrated.

Okay but you're also trading him and JT Miller for 1 year of Sam Reinhart (promise you he won't sign anywhere that isn't competitive) and 2 replacement level overpaid players. By this time next year you'd likely end the season with nothing from that trade.

Also, those Canucks fans are overthinking. Sophomore slumps are real, Quinn will be fine. And introducing Pod to the NHL by playing him with the guy whose quite literally been the worse NHL regular for the past 2 seasons isn't a good idea.

you are getting Sam's RFA rights so whatever deal you can make with him is what you will have - he will be going to his home city Vancouver as for the deal in general it's way to complicated I'd rather just do a hockey deal Sam for Brock.

Hes arguably more than a third of the way through his career and he has never been on a team that's finished above 6th in the division even though he has constantly worked his butt off. I have a hard time believing he would re sign in Vancouver if they aren't competitive, and making that trade makes them way less competitive.

VAN is not moving Hughes. Miller will leave the Sabres once he hits free agency.
