I'm excited for Arvid Soderblom too! I'm sure he'll go to Rockford, but he's solid.

I've been very hard on Riley Stillman because I thought the other guys deserved the ice time more, BUT his last couple games I've been focused on him and I liked the way he ended the season. I could see him on the roster opening night.

At least one of Kalynuk,Beaudan,Stillman needs to be moved imo. Right now at LD we have Kieth,Zad,Dehaan,Stillman,Beaduan,Kalynuk. At least two of those guys need to go. We can pray seattle takes dehaanm, which means we still probably need to move one more guy out. Same thing at forward. 2 need to go. Its too crowded. I pick Strome and ntlander to be the ones that go. If Reichel and Borgstrom are both NHL ready, 3 guys need to go. My pick for the third would be one of kampf or guadette

You made me happy with the draft pick prediction. Hawks arent afraid to make slight reaches on players they believe in. Dach was projected around 5, they took him 3, Reichel was projected in the 20s and they took him at 17. Lambos might be projected in the late teens but I wouldn't be surprised if the hawks take him at 12

Why move off Stillman or Kalynuk, Keith is gonna be 38 next year and Zadorov is just a taller/more expensive stillman. Id rather move those two than the kids

I agree, Zadorov might be moved but Kieth only goes if he wants to. I'm saying in terms of bodies we need to move a couple out. It's easier said than done to move kieth

I think either DeHaan or Zadorov will be taken by Seattle and then Beaudin could spend another season in Rockford. Is he ready for the NHL, YES. But just like Delia this past year...one guy might not get what they want. If it's Beaudin, at least he'll develop in Rockford.

I do agree with you on the crowded forward group. I wasn't expecting A.) Hagel to play this well B.) Strome to sit this much, and C.) trade for Borgstrom. Considering Strome's exit interview...I could see a him getting traded.

Highly unlikely Keith goes anywhere. Ideally, De Haan and Zadarov are moved. De Haan is the better player but he's a #4 guy which we have plenty of. Zadarov on a good team is nothing more then a 3rd liner and even on the Hawks should never be put on the 1st line. That said, Z is moveable albeit the return is probably not great being a 2nd at best and 3rd more realistic.

Stillman, Beaudin, Kalynuk, deserve ice time. Vlassic is a year a way. None of those 4 guys IMO have #1 ceilings, #3 at best but they should be the core of our left side defense in the future. That still brings us to the biggest problem on this hawks team is we don't have a first line LHD in the system or on the roster currently. Somehow, we need to find one in the next couple years.

I'm sure the Hawks are thinking something like this, but Strome + the first round pick and maybe a B prospect talking to teams about a top left handed D prospect or roster player.

It's such a lame move trading Nylander and a middle 4th for a late 2nd. It will cost next to nothing to resign him and having him is in the system if for nothing more than depth is more valuable than the pick.

Im not the biggest fan of De Haan, advanced numbers and expected stats seem to love him but like, the puck is always going in the back of the net because his turnovers. It seems like there should be a correction on the ice, but those decisions seem to genuinely almost always be his fault

Yeah not a big fan of him either but Z is worse IMO. Z can't make a pass to save his life and makes so many bad decisions with the puck when he has it. Both players need to go though.

For $4.5M the Hawks should be all over it. 2 way strong board player and pretty quick that puts up 20+ goals a season....Hawks don't have many, if any, 2 way wingers that are strong on the boards and can pot 20+ goals.

I don’t get the gut feeling that Saad is coming back or that there is any interest from the hawks. You would think they would have kept him and extended him if there was mutual interest. I could see him coming back on a one year deal after the season starts if there are no other takers for a long term contract... but otherwise the marriage is over in my eyes.

I don't think it's likely, but Hawks should be all over it. Such an underrated player and mishandled by bowman....we took a bath on that trade and should have held onto this season at least to the TDL. He's look good for the Avs and they will likely resign him.

If CBJ are trading that first, it’s not likely to be for Strome. Even if it’s for two years of control.

Same goes for Subban. Their G duo is next is likely Elvis/Korpi and Tarasov, so they’re pretty set.

If you want to bring him back for 1-2 years I think it’s fine but 5 years is too much. I would like to wait until we have signed our young guys who need extensions the following season before signing a forward long term. 5 year deal and you’re now signed longer than any other Blackhawk. I would sign a Dman long term right now but forwards I think I’d like to wait a year. We have so many guys who could potentially be part of the future, we should still be testing them out next season. See if Saad will do a one year deal. If not, sign Hinostroza, keep Nylander, sign Shalunov or sign a different UFA if need be.

Who do you think are realistic targets with that package? Lindholm is the obvious answer but who else?

I don't know the answer. Have to look at the teams that are bottom feeders like Anaheim, Detroit, etc.

He had a down year, but the entire team had a down year. I think he can bounce back. Heck, maybe that means we can get him for a lower trade value? I know CBJ is looking for a Center. Maybe Strome, a 2nd, and a B prospect?
