Yea no Eichel is getting traded there is no denying it. He doesn't like it in Buffalo. Also that is no where near enough to dump Okposo

You won’t get better this year but long term you might. Between prospects and picks, you should rebuild fast. A few decent adds in FA and you could be competing

Grubauer the same $ as Old Man Martinez and only 50,000 more than Zach 'sidecar to elites' Hyman how are more people not bothered by stuff like this

    He has a .920 career sv% 😵

He's an elite goalie there's no two ways about it

    I mean...
using LA as an example, let’s say you got something along the lines of Turcotte, Kupari, ****emo and a 2021 first.

That’s brings in 4 serviceable future players. 3 of which would have a very good chance at a top 6 future.

Now obviously it’s Jack Eichel, he’s pretty good at hockey to say the least. But the likes of Turcotte + Kupari + someone like McTavish, Sillinger or Lucius is not bad whatsoever. As well as Buffalo’s own top pick.

Don’t attack me on the exact value of this trade either, it’s just an example.

He never said he doesn't like it.... He always says the same sorts of things in the offseason. It just comes down to not wanting to lose. He can win in Buffalo, I don't think he really cares where he plays so long as he is winning. They'll keep him since he's under contract and has 0 leverage until his NMC kicks in 2022-2023

Idk I mean the Oilers in the early 90s had young Shayne Corson almost lead them in both scoring and PIM by a single increment in each that's pretty cool

    With 47 points

yeah but you're not trading your best player to get better. you're trading him because he doesn't want to be there

It’s just really obvious that they need to trade him.

Also, the logic is bad here. The goal isn’t to get better. The Sabres can’t win as constructed. The goal is to acquire future assets so they can win in 3-5 years.

Yeah i think eichel isnt getting traded due to a bad season and a neck injury so you'll.probably get your way. I just hope he doesn't get traded for a bunch of junk like ROR. At the end of the day tho the sabres are inexplicably bad. Theres only two hopes 1. A blind luck turn around where the team is rejuvenated thanks to a plucky coach sent in with a disney documentary crew. 2. Strip down to 0 and full rebuild. There's no re-tooling that's going to fix what happened this year and to let any player start thier career in this locker room is just irresponsible.

Underpay to get rid of Okposo and overpay on Miller plus he’s not a need for Detroit.

Until he straight up announces he wants a trade he is staying in Buffalo. Even if he asks for a trade he has no leverage. He chose to sign an 8 year deal in Buffalo so as far as he and management is concerned, he plays out that contract in Buffalo. He's free to sign anywhere as a free agent if he wants to
