I realize you’ve gotta move money, but Buffalo has no use for Victor Rask. Switch in Fiala and you have something.

IMO if Fiala enters the deal Greenway stays

Buffalo fans have always said they want a center back, no?

Personally the deal I like involves Rossi, Fiala, and Boldy or Greenway.

A useful center, not an obvious cap dump. We’re talking about Minnesota getting a Hart trophy contender here. If the trade doesn’t hurt significantly it’s just not good enough.

I think Fiala is a tall ask though.
Why not ask for Rossi or Marat instead?

When the player you are acquiring is immediately the best player on your team, nobody is off-limits.

I don’t really have much of an opinion either way.
But Minnesota has been deep prospect pool and in win now mode. The arbitrager in me says go for Boldy, Rossi or Marat, etc and picks. Leave Greenway, Rask, Fiala, etc in MN

This is actually a pretty good offer. Definitely one of the best I’ve seen on this cite at least.

We have to remember, if Jack wants out that immediately drops his value a bit. He was also injured, so his values drops a bit more. So I think this trade is actually pretty good.

However, in Minnesota’s case they have a lot of money on the back end and a bad Parise contract. I’m not sure Eichel’s 10M cap hit would fit in so well. Personally I’d like to see Minnesota stay on their course and develop Boldy into a top 6 guy and Rossi into that high end C. He certainly has the skill to do so.

That's harsh Rask isn't good but he isn't a cap dump either - look I'd rather have Eichel instead of this deal but we should acknowledge deals that at least make an effort to return value as compared to deals that seem to be just trolling.

Overall I like it, pretty fair offer, although I think the Sabres probably want Ek involved somehow (maybe in place of Greenway and Rask?)

Honestly, my offer would be...

Dumba - $6M
Rask - $4M
Boldy - Obvious
Khovanov - B prospect: top six center/wing potential and upside
2021 1st (PIT or MIN)
2022 2nd (MIN)
