I think Zucker to the Canes makes a lot of sense, but I don't think they'd want to give up Nino to do it. I don't know much about the Canes though, it just seems like they are pretty shallow at the wings so this is a somewhat lateral move for a team that will be competing for Cups for the near future.

Carolina's wing depth is very strong when you consider Necas, Svechnikov, Teravainen, Foegele, McGinn, Fast and Niederreiter make up the bulk of the wide forwards.

I don't see it from the Canes side. Zucker has an extra year on his contract and it doesn't make them a better team now.

Niederreiter's value is so difficult to judge because he has up years and down years and they alternate, He had an up year this year, so his value is high, but... I don't know why Carolina would make this move. Maybe taking Zucker works, but I don't think Niederreiter is the make-shift player they'd move. It would probably need to be Skjei for cap reasons.

Yeah like I said I don't know much about the Canes. I thought Necas was being developed as a center. Either way swapping Nino for Zucker doesn't move the needle all that much for that group. Adding him by moving like a Fast or McGinn maybe makes a bit more sense. Zucker is a strong top 6 guy he's just not meshed all that well with Malkin but has played well with other centers.

Trocheck, Staal, Aho are the centers. There's no I can understand Zucker to Carolina, he was an analytical beauty in Minnesota. I just don't see who Carolina can move in terms of cap to make this work.

Niederreiter has up and down years is the issue and it alternates. It's going to look like a bad deal for Pittsburgh next year, but the year after he'll be incredible.

I like the idea of Zucker in Carolina, I just don't see a package to make it work.
