avs would have to decline, they need Timmins on his cheaper deal to fill in the D core as the avs roster gets more expensive and Copp is just going to be way to expensive contract as he is 1 year out from UFA and had a career year in production.

How much do you think Copp would sign for? I like the player but I don't know if it would make sense for COL cap wise

3.5-4M I think. Maybe cheaper with the right team. I’m basing that on what I think arbitration would give him

Morrissey may have had a bad year or two since his BFF left for NY, Trouba fared the same fate separated from JoMo btw, but has looked a lot more stable paired with DeMelo on a consistent basis.

Ekholm + extension gets a better return than that.

Maybe people will stop sending Ristolainen to Winnipeg if Jets fans stop thinking they're getting Ekholm for garbage offers like that.

I'm not super high on Samberg but that trade is not worth it for the Jets, better off to see what Samberg amounts to and keep the 1st.

I agree. I just really like Ekholm, think he would sign and really stabilize our d core and balance it out. It moves JoMo down and the eases his work load.

I really like Ekholm too but he's going to be 33 when he starts his next contract and he's going to be wanting term, doesn't seem like a wise long term investment imo.

Also it would ease Morrissey's work load but that's still an undersized 2nd pairing and a small D core overall, DeMelo isn't very good, they'd still need to upgrade that D pair as well, maybe Stanley could play on his offhand though.

All the different ways to look at this Jets defense that Chevy's built and it's such a mess imo.. Lol

Great title. Bad defense. I need a beer.
