Toronto acquires Eichel fun fantasy but not too terribly unrealistic

Description
I think the whole point of this is just for fun, I don’t believe Eichel is a target for the leafs nor do the sabres really benefit from this trade as much as if they made it with another team with a deep prospect pool. We know the leafs have been looking at moving kerfoot and Rielly’s time appears to be coming to an end so this really fulfills Torontos need. I definitely see a 3 way trade being likely for Toronto again this offseason however the 2nd is probably a bit low. Toronto paid a first in to get rid of the $6.25m Marleau cap hit so a 2nd plus would definitely do the trick.

Toronto gets undoubtedly the best top 9 in the league while retaining 3 really good defensive defensemen. You hope Sandin and Liljegren become reliable offensive guys. Campbell is the real deal and Rittich is no where near the leafs backups of old so a really confident tandem.

Once again this is meant to be a fun what if trade and shows you that it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibilities.

P.S. don’t get mad at me Sabres fans, Eichel is probably going to be at his lowest value ever this off-season considering the flat cap, his unofficial request for a trade, and the potential for wanting a career ending surgery.

If Dubas is feeling a bit risky, the results may truly payoff.

I don’t believe there are 30 teams willing to trade their prospect pools and a legitimate top pair defensemen for a player who potentially has a career destroying injury. Too each there own

Your prospect pool is 1 player? Pretty shallow pool. And that top pair defenseman had 1 good season. Not to mention he only has 1 year left on his deal and he definitely wouldn't sign am extension in buffalo.

Career destroying injury is a bit of a stretch.

Oh and "to* each their* own"

Going to cost a lot more than a 2nd and a 3rd for a team to retain 2 million for 5 seasons.
