I don’t mind the Dadonov trade, but I don’t see it happening unless Ottawa takes back some salary cap. Stars have Heiskanen’s extension coming up this year, in addition to a few re-signings & replacing at least 4 roster spots for next season.

They’ve gotta do all that with just shy of $18M, and that’s before Dadonov’s $5M AAV cap hit.

I don't think you trade Dadonov this summer. I think he's going to bounce back big next year, and trading him now would be for pennies on the dollar.

Also I can see Kelly making the Sens next year, but I'm not seeing him as a C. I don't think he's played C in a long time. He hasn't done it in Belleville for any meaningful stretch, and even in the WHL I think he was still a winger. How I would lay it out would be Formenton on the 3rd line LW, Kelly 4LW and Paul to 4C. Paul is a good combination of all the things you want in a 4th line C, and he was one of three players on the team who took over 100 draws and won 50% or more. He's a C imo.

That is more than fair value for Sam, but I don't think he will sign long-term in Ottawa. He has gone this far, I don't see him not wanting to become a UFA at this point.

If you want to overpay for 1 year of Reinhart... Most likely scenario: he gets traded for top tier rental prices (A-level prospect, 1st, one lesser value piece).
