Drouin to COL isn’t happening. They don’t have the cap space, he doesn’t fit in with how they play. It makes zero sense for the Avs.

losing saad to expansion and graves in the trad gives them enough cap space

Saad is a UFA, 0 chance Seattle wastes their pick on him.

Who do you think will replace Ducharme in the offseason? Just curious.

habs would have to retain on drouin so the avs aren't taking any additional cap hit.

no it does not, Avs will lose Graves/Compher, or Donskoi to Expansion and after signing Makar Landeskog Jost and Grubauer avs have 0 cap space with a 22 man roster they cant take on Drouins contract or in your scenario, 2m in additional cap space

    Easy decline

I can answer that for you!

Molson will fire MB after the playoffs and hire Patrick Roy as his replacement. Then Patrick will let Ducharme go and hire Bob Hartley as the new head coach. Bob will get a 3 yr contract at most to get the Habs to a Stanley Cup. But, I predict that by year three - if Hartley has lost the dressing room - Roy will come down to coach the remainder of that season.

Are you sure you're not Roy's burner account? 😉

You'd need major retention on Drouin to make it work for the Avs cap situation.
