Kings say no unless an extension is signed. Still might say no.

No need to add Asplund to the Eichel deal. Otherwise looks like a winning deal. Maybe add a filler piece or two.

Risto deal works for both sides with or without the pick.

I did mentioned Reinhart with new contract.

LAs pick is 9-11OA the 7-9OA pick probably will belong to Detroit if Vancouver falls behind them. Turcotte+LAs 2021 1st round pick #9 to #11OA+LAs 2022 5th round pick for Reinhart with extension+2021 2nd round pick isn't enough. Turcotte should have more value then that.

Top 10 pick and Turcotte for Reinhart? That seems lopsided

Why? He underwhelmed in college and hasn't done anything of note in the AHL. If anything his stock has dropped each year since being drafted

Yeah 26 points with Wisconsin, And 21 points in his 1st AHL season, Yeah that is pretty underwhelming if you ask me.

In my opinion, Reinhart is worth more than the elevation from 33rd (which is locked in; the lotteries apply only to the first round) to 7th - 11th alone, but not Turcotte more. I think that you're talking a roster player, or maybe two prospects like Akil Thomas and Kale Clague.

Careful, Poe's Theorem is going to operate here. People probably don't know you're talking about 26 points in 29 NCAA games and 21 points in 32 AHL games.

Kings can just wait for Reinhart to sign his one year RFA contract and then leave Buffalo as a FA at the end of next year. Reinhart wants out of Buffalo and doesn't want to go through a rebuild again

26 points in 29 games & 21 points in 31 games. Fine for any other prospect, but underwhelming for a top center prospect.

If he takes that road he definitely isn't going to LA though.

Where has Turcotte underwhelmed? If anything, the rub on him has been injury history. But when he is on the ice, he has completely lived up to his top-5 billing.

Nope we expect a top center prospect to average 2 PPG rather in college or the AHL sarcasm

Maybe if we are talking about those numbers in juniors, but he did those in NCAA and AHL, which are far superior leagues and much closer to NHL style.

Yes, and compared to other top center prospects at the same age his production is behind the curve.

Again, his production is fine for a regular prospect. Underwhelming, for someone that's a top center prospect.

There were 4 other forwards drafted in the top 20 of the same draft as Turcotte that also went the NCAA route. All have outproduced him and all were drafted later than him. Caufield, Boldy, Newhook and Zegras.

First, 2019 draft class was one of the best years....and Turcotte is still easily a top-ten in a year loaded with forwards.
(Although they should have taken Zegras at #5)
Second, Caufield and Boldy are wingers.
Third, Turcotte's appeal is his 200-ft game.

What centers are you comparing him to?
He put up better numbers in NCAA than Josh Norris and better AHL numbers than Byfield.
I think this 'Turcotte is a bust' stuff is total malarkey.

I am not calling him a "bust". Also his #'s were basically identical to those of Byfield who is 1.5 years younger. He at this point projects as a solid middle six center prospect but as far as the high end 1C upside that does not appear to be there and if you are trading for one of the top 10 players in the world there will have to be some significant pieces attached to this prospect to make a viable offer

Nobody is calling him a bust lol. It's just his production doesn't match his top center prospect reputation. Byfield is 2 years younger than Turcotte, but they still have roughly the same production.

Other top center prospects first year at his age

Jack Eichel 1.78 PPG

Clayton Keller 1.45 PPG

Dylan Larkin 1.34 PPG

Alex Newhook 1.24 PPG

Trevor Zegras 1.09 PPG

Alex Turcotte .89 PPG

Casey Mittelstadt .89 PPG

Jack Roslovic .72 PPG

Nick Schmaltz .68 PPG

Josh Norris .62 PPG

John Beecher .52 PPG

Riley Sheahan .46 PPG

Nobody is doubting that Turcotte will be an NHLer. I'm just doubting this guaranteed top center hype around him. The guys that became top centers in the NHL produced at a much higher rate than he did.

I view Turcotte is a solid 2c that can play 18-20 min/gp including PK and PP, take def zone draws, and add 50-60 pts a year.
I view Beniers similarly with a bit more offensive upside.

If Sabres move Eichel and end up with those two, they'd be in pretty good shape.

Eichel, Larkin, and Zegras...only ones I'd take before Turcotte.

9-11 o/a does not get the Sabres Beniers. And agin we are looking at 3 to 4 years from now until you would expect those two players combined to be matching Eichels production maybe

Maybe he could become that, but nothing from his DY-O DY+1/+2 years is suggesting he's a lock for that. Guys that became the 18-20 minute 60 point guys produced like the higher echelon of that list (Eichel, Larkin, Keller). Turcotte might just be a good 3C guy like Pageau.
