I can't see Winnipeg having any interest in giving up a 3rd for a replacement level player. They're better off just signing one as a UFA.

You mean like who they signed last off season to play that role? Fair enough that you won't part with a 3rd for a Wagner type player. Ask Ehlers how he felt after all the "support" he got in that Toronto debacle. Shameful that no one came to his defense or at the very least took aim at comparable player like Marner/Nylander on Toronto to send a message. I like Winnipeg but they are where Toronto was 2-3 years ago. Mediocre at best on the back end and just as importantly soft when it comes to team toughness. Hope Chevy addresses both this off season.
