Jenner is a pending ufa, not giving up Chytil for him. Kuzy seems like a distraction. I like the Vegas one.

They are done with Kutzy this offseason.
He is on way out... with that cap hit Wash will be fortunate to get a Strome to plug in at 2C.
Im outside DC, lots of trouble following Kutzy... he is gone.

Lol... Kutzy is just a step above DeAngelo...
Kutzy has lots of issues in DC, the coke is just the start.

Yeah so what makes you think the Rangers have any interest in a coke sniffing Kutzy? Aren't they getting rid of DeAngelo due to his racist remarks. And yet Kutzy has more issues then DeAngelo. Doubt and sane GM takes on Kutzy and his distractions.

Obviously hoping Kutzy can turn it around, thus the buy low.... duh.
There is rumored to be a strong Russian community in NY he may find a better comfort level.
DeAngelo fits right in in DC and the Caps are in desperate need of skill on blueline after Carlson.
So Wash, gets rid of known issues in Kutzy, replaces him with solid 25 yr old 2C and add 25 yr old former 1st round pick , and more skilled than any D in DC, save Carlson.
NY takes the chance Kutzy can regain the form and promise of what 2/3 years ago.....

A guy with five 50 point seasons, two 70 point seasons, an 80 point season, and a 30 point postseason for a guy with two 50 point seasons and a defenseman who went -6 in his last game before he beat up his own goalie?

Hard pass.

Not sure what you mean exactly... he gets change of scenery to change.... Kutzy can ski his way right out of the league if he wishes.
But the move is to help him change not enable him to poison the whole room.

I wouldn’t bring someone in with those issues period. That’s a damn big problem to bring into the locker room. Next thing he’ll get Laf and Fox doing coke.

Ok so you are slow on the understanding.
Its not about last however many years its about the next few.
Kutzy is out in DC reguardless... hes going. He was garbage this year and they know it in DC.

He is an incredibly hard sell with that cap hit.

Always amazed at having to state the obvious....

Also rumored to be a strong Russian Mafia in NY, maybe Panarin can get a few guys to 'watch over' Kutzy. Hahaha

He missed time this year for an early injury, covid protocol, more covid exposure protocol, and a coach-issued suspension for arriving late at a team meeting. In the months of March and April, when he played pretty steadily, he was a top 20 center.

He tried drugs, and said he regrets it, which puts him in line with about 60% of Americans. DeAngelo tried beating up teammates. But all that aside, you're dumping millions in cap on WSH when they're trying to give Ovechkin and Samsonov raises, but they have no big expiring deals. It is not happening as written, no matter how much you try to insult the guy.

eta: while Deangelo's skill would be welcome anywhere they think they can get him to play some defense, WSH has Orlov and Schultz for secondary blue line offense. Orlov started slow, but since March he and Fox are tied for 4th among defenders in even strength points, and Schultz is tied for 24th. If the top 30 are scoring like #1 defensemen, they kinda have three of them, but if Deangelo can get back to that level, then of course there's a price where any team would take him. This just is not a workable deal for WSH under the flat cap, and I don't personally like the value. (2nd edit) but I still agree that some team could buy low on Kuznetsov while the coach is giving him a hard time and benching him. I also agree he's a good fit for NYR, and would be waaaaay cheaper than Eichel for the same skill level or possibly even a little better, plus a common first language with NYR's two top scoring wings. The fit is 100% there. Revise, or look back at the dozens of Kuznetsov to NYR posts Rangers fans made last offseason for ideas?

Why exactly are we trading for Kuzy in the first place? Strome clearly has great chemistry with the guys hes playing with. Is Kuzy gonna somehow outproduce someone that already scoring at a near ppg pace?

What else is Kuzy bringing? Faceoffs? No. Physicality? No. Defense? No. Trading Strome for Kuzy is about as lateral a move as the team can get, with one exception. The players love Strome, they always have great things to say about his leadership and how he is in the locker room.

Going after Kuzy is the absolute wrong move for this franchise.

Jenner, Im a huge fan of getting Jenner, however, not for Chytil. I also like a move for Reaves.

Strome was on a 69 point pace this year. Kuznetsov has three seasons and one postseason better than that, and had stretches this year where he was better than that. He comes from the same town as Panarin, and I think the two of them could play well with Buchnevich or Kravtsov because of a common first langugage. But you're right: he tried drugs. And only 60% of American adults have done that. To the other 40%, that could be a PR issue, so WSH is likely to sell cheap on him. But they're not taking on extra cap under a flat cap to do it. They're not retaining. Strome, 50% ADA, and a good RHD prospect might get it done. But the above would mean WSH couldn't keep Ovechkin. Can you think of any reason they consider that?

Kuzy is too one dimensional. For a team trying to get stronger, more physical and assertive... hes exactly the player theyre not looking for.

Personally, my choice would be to go after Hertl for the 2C.

Uh, I clearly said my target would be Hertl for the 2C spot. My ideal (realistic) line up would be Zib / Hertl / Jenner / Barron (Rooney) down the middle.

Oh look.. Kuzy and Samsonov are on COVID protocol because they cant stop with the bs hanging out and breaking rules going into game 1 of the playoffs. Yup, thats exactly the character guy I want on a young emerging team.

Still have the issue of your top 2Cs being “soft”, inconsistent & enigmatic offensively.
