Think Verhaeghe was after some more ice time and Tampa wasn't willing to pay the guy more than the league minimum as he wasn't anything big there. Probably not even that - during the offseason their hands were so tied on those other RFA contracts of Cirelli, Sergachev and Cernak.

It's a very Marchessault esque situation. Play ok-ish as a bottom-6 player in Tampa, then sign with Florida and start completely flourish just before the expansion draft...

This time though I think FLA will protect the guy, unlike they did with Marchessault.

Killorn is playing fine hockey right now. Cap willing, I'd like to keep him around at least until Stamkos' contract is up. We'll have to enter somewhat of a reload time anyway around then. I don't see Stamkos' scoring production aging like Ovi's.

Barre Boulet, Raddysh both look NHL ready. Their ceiling, well we’ll see but Barre Boulet looks like he could be a REALLY solid middle 6 winger/ Center and Raddysh is about the same (both have their own upsides).

Tampa dumps Johnson, probably McDonagh too somehow. Both seem very plausible. Tampa has unreal scouting and development as we’ve seen.

They’re gonna get out of it somehow someway and still be good and people are gonna be upset. Really it’s just a insanely well run machine.


I think Barre Boulet will be a top 6 winger, Raddysh will probably replace Coleman. TB scouting is great, their coaches at the AHL level are obviously doing something right, and im a big fan of how cooper handles young players. It seems like he's always trying to boost their confidence, I saw he had barre boulet on the 1st line this season.

I agree theyre going to get out of it - even if they give up a 1st theyre fine. They have two #1 centers and a #1 D under the age of 25 , Kucherov is only 27.

He wasn't qualified because he had arbitration rights. We could have given him the contract he got from Florida, but he'd be a 4th line player as opposed to playing with Barkov.

it's weird because TB has a great analytics department - Their director of analytics Michael Peterson is one of the best analytics guys in the league.

Don't sleep on Katchouk. I watched quite a bit of the Crunch this year and I thought Katchouk looked better than Raddysh. Somppi I think could very easily have a breakout year like Colton when he gets his chance.

Completely forgot about the kid BORIS!

Yeah, adding him to makes Killer, Palat, Gourde/Goodrow/Coleman seem more expendable in the future. (BB, Raddysh, Boris all can contend for roster spots).

I want to see a Katchouk/Gourde/Raddysh line next season.
The Syracuse Crunch coach apparently always preaches the way to get a call-up and succeed in the NHL (with Tampa) is to play like Gourde. I think Katchouk/Raddysh would nicely (relatively) replace Goodrow/Coleman assuming we can't keep either.

I hope the Kraken are as popular/successful as the Knights. What Vegas has done in their first 4 years is incredible.

their forward core wont be as good but their Dcore and Goaltending will be better than Vegas 1st attempt.

Girard is -4 tonight. He's looked dazed and confused. Avs bottom 4 D have been terrible this series. All I can think about is what a big difference a healthy EJ could've made. The difference in this series was turnovers by D and blown coverages.

In my Seattle expansion draft, their forward core was pretty good. But it all depends on how they want to build their team

Solid work from Gnights. They actually managed to drop the top contender.

Now they're facing their toughest opponent thus far, the Canadian champion, Tor...err... Montreal Canadiens.

Honestly I want both of them make it to the finals. Both have deserved it.

I dont think he would have made that much of a diff as before going against Vegas they were doing fine without him. Its a learning experience for them and with Graves going to Seattle and probs being replaced by Byram lets see what happens

But yeah F's in the chat for Girard. If he gets moved because of that its a feels bad man.
