And if Reinhart asks for 1-year deal to take him to UFA?
And Eichels experimental surgery doesn’t work?

What then? This could be franchise crushing trade.

I just think Eichel wouldnt really be in a much better situation the Devils than he was with the Sabres, especially after that trade. And the Devils would proabably rather keep their young guys and keep developing them. And they just named Nico captain

And if Hischier continues to be underwhelming, and all the picks and prospects bust? Lol you could shut down any potential trade if you only look at the worst possible outcome

Never said this was realistic lol. Devils shot themselves in the foot naming him captain when they did IMO, makes him essentially untouchable for a few years even though value wise I would trade him for Eichel in a heartbeat.

That doesn't get Eichel and Reinhart.

Rangers would easily out-bid that offer with Chytil, Kakko, Jones, two 1sts. And we can even add Morgan Barron or Karl Henriksson.

I get what you're saying but NJ has missed the playoffs 8 of the last 9 years, hasn't had a long term star player since Parise. Elite players like Eichel never become available at his age, it just doesn't happen. If you have a chance to acquire a player like that you do it. Would be pretty pathetic if they didn't at least call about him, imo.

Chytil = Hischier
Kakko > Mercer
Jones > Foote
Devils 1sts > Rangers 1sts

If we added another prospect like Morgan Barron, Sabres easily take ours

Every Ranger fan would choose Chytil over Hischer in a heartbeat. So yes, I'm good with that.

Ok so go make a ACGM trade with Chytil for Hischier. Let's see what everyone else thinks

"continues to be underwhelming" ?
1st overall at 18, 1st line center at 19, all-star at 20, captain at 21....so trade him at 22?

Also, I am not talking about low probability outcomes.
Eichel has serious neck injury and Reinhart probably will want UFA out of BUF or NJD.

If the Devils are comfortable giving up Miles Wood for so little Buffalo would gladly take him.

funny how none of those have anything to do with his production. he was an all-star because an injured player couldn't go. he's a 55 point center right now, 4 years removed from going 1st overall ahead of Pettersson, Makar, Heiskanen. underwhelming.

1st line center at 19- when they had... travis zajac? No big deal to be the 1C on that devils team, and its also not a big thing to be the all star when every team has to have one, when again youre playing for a devils team that was absolutely devoid of talent. And becoming a captain doesnt have anything to do with skill. Look at your last captain for example, andy greene isnt a top player by any stretch of the imagination.

Nate MacKinnon was a 53-point center, 4 years removed from going 1st overall.
Be patient. And don't just count points from center position.

and Mackinnon was also seen to be underwhelming by that point in his career. Also I would put the chances of Nico exploding into a superstar the way Mackinnon has at about 0%. he's a rare case. most stars breakout within their first 3 full years

I think if Nico makes his career as 60-point per year center, winning 57% of face-offs, and playing himself into Selke contention, I will take it.
Hischier models his game off of Pavel Datsyuk...who wasn't even in the league at age 22.
Be patient.
