If Pens Listened to Me in OffSeason- Made moves I wanted- Changed ones I Hated

Team Explanation
__________________________________________

My God this team would have been so much better rite now, I have no clue what would happen in Expansion Draft....... BUT, wow This team would be a legit Cup Contender.

** That "Triple J" - 3rd line of Centers would have been a handful to deal with, maybe Carter plays Center & Roslovic plays RW BUT either way, I would have loved it.

_________________________________________________________

- Was 1 of 3 Pens fans that loved the Tanev Signing

- Was like 1 of 5 Pens fans that LOVED the Kappy Trade.

- I never understood the hate of the Matheson Trade.... bc I thought Trading a 35 yr old 4th line RWer (for us) for a 26yr old Great skating D-man.... was a good thing?
** But never seen Horny playing as great as he did in FLO

- Always thought CeCi was a great, cheap signing.

- Was very Happy w/ the Carter Trade, didn't see it coming (bc thought he didn't want Traded) but thought it was a Great fit.

Trades
PIT
  1. Fiala, Kevin
  2. Addison, Calen
Additional Details:
- Everyone crushed me for saying Zucker "was the wrong winger" & Fiala was the guy we should have targeted for the haul we paid.
- Bc at the time of trade, Fiala "was struggling for MIN" w/ only 9 Goals & 25 Points after 46 games
Fiala only prob only costs us a 1st Rdr, a lesser prospect (Bjorkqvist), & Galchenyuk.
MIN
  1. Zucker, Jason
  2. Björkqvist, Kasper
PIT
  1. Roslovic, Jack
CBJ
  1. Riikola, Juuso
  2. 2022 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
- Before the CBJ - WPG Trade, It was rumored that Pens were in on Roslovic & I was also trading for him since the year before.

- Probably only costs us a 4th Rdr & Riikola (since WPG needed D Help) at that time, would have been a McCann like steal.
PIT
  1. Hill, Adin
  2. 2021 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
I was making this trade for last 2 yrs.
- Always knew Hill would start to show & he has looked like a legit Future #1.
- But also never seen ZAR improving so much in a season, has become a good player.
ARI
  1. Aston-Reese, Zach
PIT
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (SJS)
SJS
    From the Patrick Marleau Trade
    - They should have given us a 3rd Rdr for just playing him.
    PIT
    1. Bjugstad, Nick
    MIN
I never understood why GMJR always tried to help Billy G so much?? This was just mind blowingly dumb.
      - The Retaining just goes away & Trade never happens.

*- Could of also put Bjugstad on Taxi Squad if needed this past season.
      PIT
      1. Gaudette, Adam
      Additional Details:
      - I've been trading for Gaudette for the past 2yrs also (like Roslovic) & still think he will be a very good bottom 6 guy.
      CHI
      1. Bjugstad, Nick
      2. Lafferty, Sam
      Additional Details:
      - If Bjugstad stayed healthy like he did, could have used him as Trade Bait, still retained Cap hit, & got a useful player back.... Instead of just giving him away.
      Buyouts
      • Jack Johnson: $1,166,667
      Retained Salary Transactions
      • Nick Bjugstad: $2,050,000 (50%)

I think he’s saying this would’ve happened before the Laine/Dubois trade

Guerin wanted Addison, so even if you switched Zucker and Fiala you're still likely giving Addison up. That being said, there were never any credible reports Fiala was remotely available. Trading Zucker was both about clearing a top 6 winger roster spot for Kaprizov and clearing $5.5m in cap.

no way they would have ever got Roslovic for that. Like none. The issue was never the players talent, It was the personal conflict.

As for Bjugstad they were lucky to get rid of him, and I question if his being traded was part of the Zucker deal. Just not announced till later.
You can make deals like that with people you trust.
He had virtually no value at the end of last year, he was always hurt.

Fiala wasn't on the block. Zucker was the winger that was going to be traded by MN. Age, cap hit, roster makeup, and overall play said Zucker was on barrowed time in MN.

I agree with u but when the Trade happened Fiala was struggling still in MIN, but took off after trade.
Im just mad bc I always loved Fiala & wanted him.

Roslovic had ZERO value at that time & had ppl on here lol at me for even trying to trade for him... If u think about it, he was basically a throw in on the Laine - PLD deal bc the pick was for the retained $.

And almost every major rumor guy was reporting GMJR was in on him.

I don't think that Bjugstad was part of the Zucker deal at all, (if anything was part of Zucker Deal it was us getting a 1st back for taking him)
      - GMJR just got into Cap trouble and threw him away ... was very very dumb of him

what value people on here place on a player has nothing to do with how GM view them. WPG had offers on the table for him, they weren't moving him.
He wasn't just a throw in on the PLD trade. They had to balance the trade out. Not only did WPG get an extra year, but they got a C and a player more likely to resign and stay there. Where most people look at Laine as probably bolting CBJ since he arrived.
