I like Risto more than some people but given that he has developed a frustration with Buffalo I'd take that trade - Nolan Patrick is a lottery ticket, probably not going to payoff in anyway but there is that one in a thousand chance.

If the Red Wings did move Bertuzzi, I think they'd want a 1st round pick and maybe another minor asset. JVR had a good year but he's not what the Red Wings would be after.

Detroit says no thanks, James Van Riemsdyk is a 2 x $7,000,000 cap dump and i'm sorry Hagg is a year older then Bertuzzi and he's not much of an upgrade for us at LD and a 3rd round pick. Sorry Bertuzzi's value is far more then what you're offering that's for sure.

Some bad moves.

Risto is pretty close in value to Ghost, not enough to include Patrick and a 3rd, but I would do Risto for Ghost and a 3rd.

Koneckny is close enough to Laine in his own right, to make a one for one trade feasible (TK is signed for 5.5mil for 4 yrs and produces a just 10 pts less a year), but you add sanheim and a high 1st?

If DET took that deal great, but its way too far in PHI favour.

Voracek is still peforming at a 60+ pt a year, led the team in pts, consistent, no injury history and a pretty safe bet to continue that production, and you throw in our top forward prospect? The only reason to do this is to overpay on Dougie Hamilton when offensive dman isn't PHI's weakness?

I see a worse team.

yes please a 1st round pick for a severe injured player on a team with essentially no goal scorers and an 11% on the power play, for 2 years not mention point production even still while older is better then bertuzzi sheeeeeeesh 😂

So much this... Laine was a questionable acquisition last year and makes no sense at that price this year. He had the same number of goals as Kevin Hayes this year while tallying fewer points and an actually impressive -28. His expected goals and corsi are absolute garbage for his entire career despite starting 60% of his shifts in the offensive zone. There is no way you can justify both TK and Sanhiem with a 1st.

Not sure if you misunderstood what I said but I was saying that Detroit would not be interested in JVR because of his age and the fact that they're rebuilding. They'd want assets that line up with their future cup window - like draft picks and prospects. Never said that Bertuzzi is worth JVR + a 1st. I said that he's worth a 1st and a minor asset. And if you're that concerned with his 'severe injuries', you could just not trade for him and Detroit would be perfectly fine with keeping him.
