When he wasn't immediately fired, I knew this was coming. If this is 2 years or less, I'm fine with it. My hope is that with Byslma let go, that Yzerman hires his own guy to run the PP as a possible replacement to Blashill if things don't go well out of the gate.

Some Wings fans will hate it but I don't mind Blashill. You can't possibly look at the rosters they've had since 2016-17 (the first year they missed the playoffs), and think they had the talent to make the playoffs. This year's team was also significantly better than last year which is important. A lot of people criticize him for the extremely defensive style the Red Wings played this year, but this team did not have the scoring to go goal-for-goal with hardly any other team. He was coaching the style that would result in the most wins for the team. Another important thing about him is that the players still seem to be playing for him despite the results. Every time the Wings got blown out this year, they followed it up with a win, or at least a much better performance.

Also, Bylsma is not being brought back and he was our assistant coach that ran the PP (which was at 11% this year).

Yup 2 years would be fine with me as well, Byslma gone is actually a big deal I feel like people dont see, nice to see im not the only one excited there. The team showed improvement over the second half of the season as well, Blashill is fine as a stop gap until the team is truly ready to compete, The upcoming Wright and Bedard drafts shouldnt be overlooked here either

I'm fine with Blashill on a 1-2 year deal, But Bylsma and Houda have to go. We need better Assistant Coaches to help us with the Power Play and Penalty Kill.

So do I!!!!!
None of this is Blashill's fault 25 years of buying at the TDL is what caused the majority of the problems we have now.

The continuity of having the same coach through out the rebuild really does make the process much easier for everyone involved.

Plus Blashill and Cooper have very similar styles of coaching and Yzerman brought Cooper to TB and look how well that has turned out.

Yup! Stevie has my full confidence, If he thinks Blashill is the best choice then i'm on board, Stevie hasnt done anything to not have the entire fan base's full confidence and support, trust the process, rebuilding takes time (Sucks both my favourite teams are so bad at the same time but oh well tears of joy )

I’m actually really curious to see what Blashill can do with an actual good roster.
