With the sharks lack of center depth I find it hard to envision them letting couture go for anything short of an elite NHL center prospect, a 1st and an nhl ready/ nhl player to fill out 3C need.
And with his contracts I see no one in the NHL giving up that to get him!

You’re right. No one would give that up for him considering he’s already 32 on a long term deal for a while.

Honestly only teams interested would be in win now mode looking at him for his playoff dominance for the next 2-3 years before he is a bad strain on the cap for the final 3-4 years of this deal. I see his real value being a prospect or a late 1st if that. He is valuable but his contract is a death sentence

$8 mil for 6 more years makes that awful unless San Jose retained $1-2 mil.

Or he was the last piece to win a cup in the next 3 years!

I got the impression we’re going for it this coming season, so I don’t see them moving Segs for futures

If the cap hit weren’t what it was I could understand it, but at that hit adding him as a contender is impossible and require subtracting from your team.

I like Texier but not enough to move Seguin.

For Couture? I'm fine with pretty much any reasonable offer. Although Ideally, we'd get someone back who's capable of filling in where 39 left off since we don't have good center depth apart from him and Hertl.

But yeah if I'm Wilson, I very heavily explore the idea of moving Couture asap.

Tyler Seguin > Texier and Toronto's late 2021 1st round pick.

Seguin has a full NMC and I doubt he would waive for Columbus.

As a Sharks fan, I’ve often thought that Couture would be a good fit in CBUS.

CBUS receives:
Couture ($2m retained)

SJS receives:
Elvis M.
TOR/TB 2021 1st (whichever one is better)
Boldly/Peeke type prospect

Boldy is a wild prospect but IMO Cbi wouldn't wanna get rid of peeke as he's our only real defensive prospect with an NHL future
