Strome is better than Monahan and Kakko has way more value than Monahan too so why would the rangers do this other than to get rid of tony

There is still no way the rangers give up that much, people don't know how well kakko progressed this year and everyone is way too quick to call him a bust

I didnt call him a bust. DeAngelo value is negative , they might lose Gauthier to seattle

The rangers don't need anything in that deal, chytil is as good as frost and strome is better than monahan, if the rangers go after a center its going to be a huge name like eichel not monahan

His buyout cap hit is half of a league min contract. Just buy him out and sign someone useful like Stone

The Rangers will just buy out Deangelo this off season, the cap hit would be $350k next year and $800K the following year. If the rangers were gonna trade kakko in a package, he'd already be on Buffalo and Eichel on the Rangers.
After the Rangers buy out Deangelo, Calgary should definitely take a look at him. I agree in your thinking that Lucic could keep him in check really well.
