Stars are going to pass. This doesn't help them at all.

That might be all we can get for Lindholm, but I'd like to think that we could hold out for your second instead of what will be at best the 59th overall pick.

Edmonton counters with Jones and the 2022 2nd for Strome and a 2021 4th.

Strome isn't worth a 1st and I don't find a 4th liner and a 3rd to be a very enticing add-on. Prospect and a 3rd? I can get behind that.

Hawks counter with Koskinen 2021 or 2022 1st for Strome and 2021 4th.

Why does Edmonton need to include Koskinen? He's a more than capable backup and hardly counts as a cap dump given that he's only got a year left.

It's either Strome for a 2nd and a smaller piece (think Benson, Marody) or Strome, a decent prospect, and a 3rd for Edmonton's 2022 1st.

Yep I agree would have to be our 2nd. The longer it goes the worse the deal will get. Taylor Hall got a 2nd!

He seems like a bit of a cap dump from feedback on the Oilers ACGM. Could get a much cheaper backup and help them with cap space to re-sign RNH, their defence core and add FA.

Strome could likely fetch a better return from another suitor I agree with as he's not the natural LW the Oilers desire.

You're not getting feedback from smart Oiler AGMs then. I've put out rounds of AGMs where Edmonton can keep all of Kulikov, Larsson, and Nugent-Hopkins, substantially add up front and invest in a nigh-$5M goaltender to usurp Koskinen, and keep north of $3M for a midseason Klefbom return. For reference:

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2393534
https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2389686

There are aspects of Strome's game I think would benefit the Oilers substantially. He's a more skilled Maroon essentially and reigniting chemistry with McDavid could unlock another level. The problem the Blackhawks are going to run into is that no team wants to pay for what they think Strome will be on their roster. They'll pay equivalent value for the player he is today and that in itself will cause a disconnect. Right now he has a higher internal value to the Hawks than he does externally to other teams.

Yes thats the facts with Strome, I believe he has far more potential then what we've seen from the shortened seasons we've gone through. His skating and defensive ability are what other franchises look at but his hockey IQ and offensive skillset is quite good for his age. MTL and MIN would likely see greater value in him than most but I don't think we should part with him for anything less than what we feel reasonable.

If he took a leaf out of Cats book and improved on his defence this off-season it would be a massive boost to his value. I wish him all the best and hope next year is a bounce back year.
