Seattle wouldn't select an upcoming UFA since they could easily decline offers and rejoin their previous team on the open market. Rask has also stated that he's either a Bruin or else he'll retire.

This is more or less very good. I would ditch kulikov, the bruins have all these LD that they want to play (which is why Chara and Krug are gone. Thankfully on the latter). If they falter, find the next guy at the deadline.

Probably a smidge more for krejci. 1x5 seems good to me.

The big problem is term for Carlo. That walks him right to UFA without buying out any UFA years. 7 years in the league = UFA. 3 years on the entry, 2 year bridge, then another 2 year? No chance. 1 year or 4+

Thanks for the honesty. The Carlo term was tough because I was sure he'd be an expiring RFA at 2 years left, but if it's only one year I would bargain for that. With the injury troubles he faced this year, I'd like to see a (hopefully) full season of him before going longer-term. Kulikov is just an underrated depth 5v5 shutdown guy, good on the PK as well which can definitely help replace what Miller will leave behind on the PK. He wasn't necessary but if he doesn't get a high bidding price I would be happy with it.

If kulikov was the kind of guy they wanted, chara would be on the team. I wish that were the case.

Carlo’s injury concerns are definitely driving down his value. I think you use that. He skates well enough so more offense could come, which would drive up his price big time especially if he’s a year away from UFA. Give him some security, and some decent money. 4x4. 5x5. Something like that. That’s never going to hurt.

In theory, this is a great projection. I even advocated for Kulikov at the deadline and looking at how the bottom pair has played so far I wish they had gotten him. However, I think they only bring in one new LHD (let's hope it's an upgrade to Reilly or Kulikov and really everyone on the left side currently), especially if one of Lauzon or Zboril doesn't go in Expansion. Between those two and Vaakanainen, they need some wiggle room. The big issue is the contracts though. Hall, Rask, and Krejci are all low, Carlo is very low, and Kase is owed $2.6MM on a QO if they keep him. Realistically, this is much more expensive plan. Luckily they have the cap space.

The only reason Carlo is that low is the term. Another person said that a 2 year deal would have him become a UFA when it expires, so if I could I'd make it a 1-year deal, or go the distance for 4 years or so. I would consider 1 year because of the injury problems he had this year, and I'd want to see one more year (hopefully healthy) to see what he deserves to be making long-term. I appreciate the comment.

He's been great in these playoffs for sure. Seattle will likely be interested in that.
