Wings are in no position to trade 3 assets to take on one assest. On top of that his neck injury complicates any trade.

Trade is terrible for Detroit. That stated, what happened to Zadina? He's nibbling on bust territory (not there yet).

I do agree that this is bad for Detroit.

Wow really??? He is currently 7th in his draft class in points and 6th in goals. Over the last 2 seasons because covid Detroit has played 127 instead of 164. Detroit was last in goals for in 2019-20 with 142 and second to last in 2020-21. It is also much harder to score on a bad team and I think the Detroit's goals for over the last couple of seasons backs that up. I don't know what you are to come to this assumption but if you really think he is close to bust territory then are all the players from his draft class with less points are busts as well? The link below is the 2018 draft class.

He's in bust territory because of where he was expected to be by now. Not calling him a bust yet, but he hasn't progressed at all either which is worrisome. He still has time though, but he needs to make some drastic improvements to his overall game.

Loved Chopper growing up. And that flow is just amazing.

I think he actually progressed pretty nicely. He isn't lighting up stat sheets, but he is a better player today than he was at the start of the season. Pretty responsible defensively and overall a smart player. I think people are a bit impatient and forget he's 21. Datsyuk didn't play his first NHL game until he was 23, Zetterberg at 22. The addition of Vrana also directly impacted his play. I'm not worried at all about him.

As for this trade, this is something you make when you're closer to competing. There's really not a reason Detroit would give up so many future pieces at this stage in the rebuild.

Saying he hasn't progressed at all is just false. He's been getting better every game.
