Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: May 20, 2021
Published: May 21, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Rangers add veteran leadership to the Center position. While becoming a "heavier" team to play against.

Bruins- Kreider waives NMC to go back home to Boston. Rangers include 2 prospects. Bruins send underperformer Debrusk. Young Dman in Lauzon and depth forward Lazar.

Sharks go into full rebuild mode finally. I feel the compensation is adequate since Couture is now 32. 2 1sts, a blue chip Dman and a bottom 6 forward may be too steep. But the retention of salary drives up the price slightly.

Blues receive a top 10 Center in the league for a top 6-8 Center. Debrusk is a 2nd/3rd line player add in the 4th rounder I think that is fairly accurate compensation.

Calgary- Tkachuk being in his early 20's was the steepest price. Georgiev is a 1B goalie could eventually become the full time started depending on Markstrom. Strome has developed into a solid point getting 2nd line center. Kravstov is 21 year old Blue Chip Prospect. Robertson is a potential 4-5 Defenseman if there needs to be a stronger Dman prospect could maybe go with Zac Jones. You could add in a pick or another prospect to replace Kravstov other than Lafreniere.

UFA
Simmonds adds quality Grit and Presence to the 4th Line
Coleman adds quality Veteran and Utility Player attitude to 3rd Line
Halak Provides insurance to the backup role and Kincaid is there in case Halak struggles or injury.

IMO Kakko or Laf has to come back. Tkachuk isn't for trade

Rangers would still have 20 million available plenty to sign Fox.

After the season Tkachuk/Fox/Kakko or Kravstov whoever would be able available need to be resigned. Lundqvist Buyout is complete frees up 1.5 Halak/Kincaid are free agents that fress up around 3. Lauzon/Rooney/Lazar are free agents. 17.5 mill available not 20 but plenty to sign Tkachuk and Fox imo.

Fox gets around 9 M and Tkachuk gets around 8. Left with 500k but still have to sign Kaako, some depth players, and a backup goalie.

Probably not far off. I don't think Fox is going to get that much but he will be in the 8 million range. Still have an opportunity to move things around if need be.

How much is fox getting? Tkachuk's QO is 9 million then you have Kinkaid in this scenario Kakko, also Lauzon. That will probably be more than 20 million

Don't think Blues accept. Zib has a lot of offensive pop, but not the intangibles of ROR. Plus, he's not signed beyond next year and wants to be paid. Army lives for value contracts. Don't see this happening

I would say 8 million similar to Thomas Chabot's deal maybe they shorten the term to 6 years instead of 8 years. Tkachuk I think is in the 8x4 range as well. There Still is wiggle room for other moves to be made if necessary. Signing Coleman is the hang up I guess. Signing a cheaper UFA would allow for less issues.

It probably won't. O'Reilly only has 2 more years on his contract as well. But for sure O'Reilly is the better of the 2.

Value wise, it's one heck of a trade though so good job there.

The Kreider deal is interesting.

And the Rangers decline the rest pretty quickly. I could tell most of these would be pretty cringe from the title, and you didn't disapoint.

The Blues aren't trading Dad, it really is as simple as that. He's the captain and the best player and the city would revolt.

How well acquainted are you with hockey value metrics / models such as SPAR/xSPAR/GSVA and Hockeyviz’ player isolates?

That Couture contract isn't going to age well. Just sign a 6m centre short term and keep all your picks.
That's poor offer for Tzachuk.
Bruins aren't that interested in Kreider or his contract.
