Additional Details:
I know this feels like a TON... but overall I still think Minny comes out a bit better from a whole organizational level afterwards. Losing Rossi bites but he will never touch being as good as eichel, losing dumba and talbot suck but I don't think they're irreplaceable, Beckman and hunt are good prospects but Minny still has a good prospect pool after this trade and they now have Judd Brackett, and Rask is mostly a cap dump. Plus, I do think Kaprizov likes Minny but you need to get him that elite center to be 100% sure he stays.

Wild aren't trading their #1 g, or giving all these assets for eichel.

Wild aren't giving the definition of six 1st round pick for eichel. Cam Talbot isn't going anywhere.

Wild also aren't going to retain on dumba. Wild are going to put extensions for kaprizov, fiala, & Eriksson Ek first. They aren't retaining on dumba when wild still needs to put a team together, & add players/ depth to both the team, & Iowa wild (AHL)

Nope, no deal to be done without another prime piece (Addison, Boldy etc)

Addison is going nowhere. If boldy is added, wild are taking out another prospect. Buffalo fans are about to get a wake up considering eichel value is at almost time low

    Agreed.
I understand that it’s Jack Eichel, and he’s... well Jack Eichel.

But the Sabres don’t exactly have a whole lot of leverage here. Eichel wasn’t playing great, then he got injured and if he wants out on top of that....

Jack Eichel isn’t going to bring in a king’s ransom. Sucks, but it’s the truth.

Eichel had a stomach injury, broken ribs and a sprained ankle before his neck injury. 18 points in 21 game’s while being one of the better defensive centres isn’t bad. Sabres have all the leverage until his NMC kicks in.

there is rossi and 1 first. what do you mean by "definition of six first round picks?"

Are you just forgetting Adam Beckman? Or you know cam Talbot?

Marco rossi, wild 1st round pick. , dumba,

    Dumba's value himself is a 1st, & top c prospect

    So yeah that is 6

But it doesn't matter because wild either already has a handshake deal, or will work out one with Seattle to protect dumba, & Talbot

But Talbot isn't getting traded. Wild aren't trading their #1G

lol you cant just equate every asset to a first. you could do that with any eichel proposal and be like "well look at all these firsts!!' it makes 0 sense.

and yes, i probably know more about prospects than you do so i very much know who adam beckman is.

Marco rossi was just selected 9th overall in last draft so yes he's worth way more than a 1st

Cam Talbot will get a 1st easily

I was talking to my dad about this earlier today and he said something interesting that I hadn’t thought of. The Sabres have all the leverage this season because the no movement clause does not kick in until next year. We all know that, but what he said is even if they waited until next year they still have all the leverage because they can tell him to waive his no movement clause or they won’t trade him. It’s pretty weird to think like that, but he’s not entirely wrong. Jack isn’t going to throw away $50 million just because he doesn’t wanna play in Buffalo. In the end if Buffalo does not get the offer they want they don’t have any obligation to trade him.

I think it's too complicated. I'd be really surprised if another asset leaves Buffalo in an Eichel trade.

Not saying Minnesota should or shouldn't make this deal, but are you high? There's 2 pieces where that are the equivalent of a 1st round pick in Rossi and the actual 2021 1st round pick (that might be late so not worth a lot anyways). Dumba would be a close 3rd piece that might be worth a 1st but he's pretty overrated and likely more in the realm of a high 2nd and a prospect. But there's no way in hell there's "six 1st round picks here"

And I'm sure Buffalo ownership loves having the team captain and star player badmouthing the team while they continue to waste his career. Definitely helps with ticket sales.

It’s a slippery slope for him too you know. Any player needs to be careful with his words to the media. He has to know that if he appears to be a ****ty teammate there are fewer teams that would be willing to trade for him. If he really wants out and the Sabres don’t get the offer they want, he still has to show up to camp and prove his value by playing well. That’s how if you really wanna leave the Sabres will get the trade offer they will accept. Do your job and do it well and someone will decide you are worth the cost to bring you in.

Can't see it playing out any different than it did for Columbus with PLD. Eichel is injured with something no one knows how healthy he'll come back and he's clearly done with the Sabres organization, he'll come back and take shifts off until they finally trade him. There's more reason to think the Sabres lost leverage than gained it here.

Quitting on your team when you wear the captain’s C it’s not how you make yourself valuable to potential suitors. That’s not in his make up, he’s a competitor who wants to win and will do whatever it takes to do that. I believe if he ever actually does request a trade that the Sabres will try to fulfill the request. They will not get hosed this time because they do not have to trade him until they get an offer they like. I believe he will have to wait until that offer comes. It might be at the draft, it might be after the expansion draft, it also might be during the season or at the trade deadline. It’s not impossible that during the season he could change his mind either. With the Ryan O’Reilly trade hanging over their heads the Sabres know they cannot rush into a bad trade here.
