Barkov will not be traded, end of story. And even if he is, not for that. There is no real interesting piece in that trade.

I think barkov stays now with the team in the upswing, if they did deal him I’d imagine they’d want fewer assets but more valuable ones.

So not even close to enough. Barkov's value is higher than Eichel's right now

For me that's a small part of it

1. Barkov has been better and more consistent
2. Barkov doesn't have a worrying injury history
3. Barkov is one of if not the best defensive forwards in the league, while also being awesome on offense
4. Barkov is a true captain (I don't think Eichel is. Eichel is more of a Patrick Kane type player)
5. Barkov isn't demanding a trade and is clearly the leader of an emerging perennial competitor

All of these things plus the contract makes Barkov more valuable.

Even if he was available its not enough to get him. The ball is in Barkov's court so if he wants to stay, he stays, if he wants to go he will go where he plans to sign. Barring Barkov telling management he wants to come to NY, it wont be this easy.

Buchnevich, Miller, Chytil, 2021 and 2022 1st round picks is where you would start to get Barkov.
