He has way too big cap for our team also its a huge risk when he starts to regress, you don't want to pay 11mil for a regressing player for 2+ years
Well like I said, I think he has at least 4 years left. He hasn't played under 25 minutes in his whole career almost, he definitely didn't show ANY signs this year, continues to play all situations, and is exactly the player we need (obviously less the cap hit). Now, if we are able to trade away guys like, Jake, JVR, Ghost, etc, guys who still have value and who yes, would take Chuck to get creative to trade (which he did say he'd have to do), you can fit him in. The cap after next season will also go up, with agent Allan Walsh saying he wouldn't be surprised that if within 4-5 years the cap will be close to 100mm. With all of those factors involved, take away the cap hit now, he would check almost every box:
- #1 dman (plays hardest situations and the most minutes)
- veteran leader (to teach Provy and the rest of our young defense)
- All situations player
- Right Handed
- D play in front of Hart improves
- Gamer, heart and soul guy
