We’d be looking for a dman in return for Wood. Player like Graves on COL or Esa Lindell in a bigger package

Completely disagree. Why would we do that deal

Flames would have no one on the team that is physical and will hit or fight. Remove Lucic and its a deal IMO

So an offensive defender. Bryson might fit the bill there, but I would think the Sabres would like to keep him. Adding Wood to this team does make them tougher, But it’s more of an over the top move. Apslund can take that spot in the lineup easily, and the line of Apslund, Mittelstadt, and Thompson played quite well together last year. Heaven forbid the Sabres found themselves competing for a playoff spot he is the kind of player you might try to add at the trade deadline. The deal would have to be a bit different, but it’s not one they need to make right now unless one of the other moves doesn’t work out.

He’s the added value that makes this deal worth it. The overarching point is the Sabres have no players like that right now. Can Calgary afford to take on salary? I figured it had to be a nearly money in and money out deal. I guess without him the Miles Wood trade becomes necessary instead of a luxury.

Like I said we would have absolutely no physicality and IMO every team needs some. Lucic and Tkachuk are our only physical players

I'd think Borgen + Buffalo's 2nd round pick gets it done for Wood

The trouble is they have more left-handed defensemen than they do right ones now. Losing Miller to Seattle and then Borgen in that trade leaves them with nobody to fill in there. And there are very few capable right handed shot defensemen in free agency this year.

Ive seen a bunch of Sabres fans post this trade now meaning they are content with it. That also probably means they wont get that much in a return

You just **** all over anything involving Buffalo. I’m starting to wonder if you’re more than a troll.

Yeah i figured it was something like that. I just mean Chucky, Zary, and the 1st. That will definitely be the top bid if it happens which probably means it will only be offered if Calgary gets desperate

If thats how you see it then sure. I just think realistically. Nobody has ever paid that much for a disgruntled player.

I do actually like Buffalo, I usually attend a few games each year but the borders were closed
