I'd bring back Cogs for like $700,000 and not a penny more. As for that Toronto trade that's a big no. 15th overall for a former 17th overall who hasn't made any strides as of yet. The Coleman and Martinez signings are great though.

I think that Dallas lacks RHD depth. If Klingberg signs somewhere else outside our range (though we will have the cap), then we will need someone to step into a mid pair role. It would be affordable with room to grow. This isn’t a deep draft year. The player drafted would probably be a defenseman. This sets Dallas up for the next four years defensively even if Klingberg walks. And Liljegrin hasn’t found room in Toronto due to depth (so they say).

If you were to trade for Liljegrin, what would you offer?

I agree with the Cogs signing, though I think the player floor is 750,000 this year. The 1.4 was how much I had left to spend, lol. I like his speed and PK usage.

I think to get Liljegrin you could trade as little as a 2nd and maybe a B or C+ prospect. Look at what LA gave up for Andersson (and I know he requested a trade but it was a similar situation regarding room in the top 12 F) and Andersson and Liljegrin are the same age from the same draft.

I don't mind Cogs but I think that Dallas has plenty of depth guys in the minors who can do what he does but they are younger and cheaper. If Cogs were to accept a league minimum deal I'd bring him back but for $1.4m I feel that's too much for how little he posts offensively.
