Absolutely no way that 1st should be involved.

The player from Tampa I'm most interested in is Gourde. He would be a great 3C who could also play on the wing in the top-6 if Miller plays 3C.

Johnson has negative value so we're looking at a 1st plus just for Cernak which is ridiculously high. If the Canucks really wanted him we could have sent an offersheet last year for 4.3 million and only given up a 2nd

Okay but they didn’t do that and Cernak has proven he can be a top pairing D-man and his on a cheap cap hit for two more seasons. Johnson would be a top 6 F on this team. Yeah it’s a steep price but it’s gunna take a steep price to get cernak

Face it, picks/prospects/develop should be VAN's method - 110%.
Not "being aggressive in FA" (as per JB) or trading 1st rounders ^ ^ that are in the NHLs lottery spin-cycle, or signing 62 goalies wtfook?

The first is to acquire Cernak. Highmore and ferland are the package for Johnson. I doubt Tampa would trade Cernak but if they did, I imagine they would want a 1st rounder back.

Face it, restarting the rebuild will result in wasting so many assets the Canucks currently have and they may not get another core like this.

Not sure if you noticed, but there are a lot of young players in this roster. Pettersson, Hoglander, Podkolzin, Hughes, Rathbone, and Dipietro were all drafted since 2017. Demko, Boeser, Cernak, Joulevi, Motte and Lockwood were drafted from 2014-2015. 12 out of 23 players are 25 or under. This is a young team built frond rafts and prospects and it’s okay to trade a pick to add assets to insulate then

That's great. They are not ready to win by signing more aged-FA as per the very recent past/fails - Beag/Loui/Holtby/Roussel/Ferl etc etc etc etc.

And signing Jake over TT - fail.

Jim knows drafting and develop. NOT FA signing's...

As well, because you've had fun signing umpteen goalies ^ ^ ^ to get your OP out, how do you know what you should ice will be 23 players and under the Cap...you don't!

The FA goalie signings are just a list of options. Obviously the intention is not to sign them all, just sign one of them to serve as an insurance policy for dipietro incase he isn’t ready.

And yeah I know Jim has a bad track record signing UFA’s. What does that have to do with this AGM? The only new players are Johnson, Cernak, and a 3rd string goalie

Make a post with a legit roster...23 players/under the Cap. Taxi is going to be a thing of the past for new season.
I should not have replied - my bad...cheers.
