HIs value is mainly predicated on the power play. If you're looking for a top six forward, he's not going to help you much. He should really be playing down the lineup- third or fourth line minutes- and just be a staple on the top power play unit.
Unless Edmonton is really looking to stack up on the top power play, it's probably not a good fit. His defensive deficiencies are going to exacerbate a weakness for the Oilers, which is a defensively sound forward core. I'd use that money on a guy like Schwartz or Tatar or Coleman instead- guys who are sound at 5v5 and maybe less good at the power play and don't score as much. You've got the goal scorers, now you need the peripheral pieces to help them at 5v5 and make life in the Oiler's end easier.
