I’m not a fan of trading for Laine, and trading Draisaitl. We need to do some trades, and sign some players. We need left handed wingers.

In my opinion, the oilers should trade drai. His value is at an all-time high and you already have your superstar in mcdavid. You could get a ton of value from him and dump some terrible contracts by trading him.I only see two good partnerships for a drai trade though realistically(Columbus and Dallas). You get a top 5 pick, a young top defenseman on a good contract(Werenski or Jones your pick) and you can get a great top 6 winger in laine out of it.If the Oilers can't get anywhere with this current roster trading drai might be a good choice long term.

Laine's qualifying offer is 7.5 million. So you can't sign him that cheap. And that package doesn't get us anywhere close to Reinhart. And trading Hart Trophy winners on good contracts probably isn't a smart idea...

Laine will cost 7.5 million minimum (his QO), and Werenski has arbitration rights when his deal is up in 1 year, so he could easily cost 7-8 million to re-sign. We'd be in a salary cap nightmare if we did this trade

You can get a lot out of drai and your not getting anywhere with this system currently and how long is it until mcdavid just gets tired of losing. With the laine thing, I wasn't aware of that but even then it doesn't change too much you just sign him for one year.Reinhart doesn't wanna play in buffalo at all it seems and you get a top 5 pick out of him that seems pretty good.

I definitely respectfully disagree. We need Draisaitl. We need him to be our 2c, and score a bunch on the PP, as we don’t have any other player that can be the 2c, and he is a very good player. Trading him is the worst option in my opinion, we should go and get a good left side on our offence, and get a starting goalie. We need more shooting power, and more defence on our offence. Also, we don’t need the picks, as it’s our time to win now. We need to go for it.

Paying an additional 3rd and eating Neal isn’t worth it.

It would cost a 1st just to move Neal, Buffalo won't sell anywhere near that cheap on Reinhart, his value is super high after his fantastic season. And there are plenty of ways to improve the oilers without losing a franchise center/future hall of famer...

Sign laine to a one-year deal worth that sure. Koskinen,Russell,Archibald all only have one year left creating room.Sadd and Glendening are also only on one year deals as well creating room to sign werenski,nurse,Jesse and mcleod after this year.Even then you can let nurse walk if needed.Laine's deal after this year won't cost more then 7.5 I would think so you can sign him for 3 years after this year for around 6.5.Lock up werenski long term is fine he will be your d-man of the future.Jeese would probably want around 4 mil which is fine and mcleod around 3.You probably still have room for nurse somewhere but even if you don't you can replace him.

That doesn't get you Sam Reinhart, and you don't trade Draisaitl unless he demands a trade, this is horrible

How do you justify giving RNH only a $250K raise, for another 4 years especially when you have James Neal making only 500k below that?
