I think this one only happens if Toronto is eliminated in 1st round. I think it kind of makes sense for both teams, Toronto gets the younger, edgier player on a better contract, while Philly makes a move for adding some more pure skill to the top 6

VAN decline, they don't need a dman who can't play defense, plus they already have enough LHD.

This is actually the only trade on here that I'd call a genuine overpay from Philly. Ghost put together a quietly strong season despite being put on waivers, where Holtby has really struggled the past 2 years. Both don't have ideal contracts, but Ghost provided significantly more value than Holbty this past season IMO (it should also be stated he has proven to be very comfortable playing RHD)

Holtby has a year left on his deal, either Seattle takes him or VAN buys him out. VAN would rather go the UFA route to sign a dman who can play defense.

That's a huge overpayment for Hamilton. We shouldn't be swapping out bad contracts to bring in new bad contracts. We're not Vancouver

It's an overpay no doubt, but relative to what ison the market I think Hamilton at that number is better than other options around the league. I don't think a guy like Savard or Barrie move the needle far enough forward in any ways, the cost fo acquire guys like Ellis/Dumba are probably far more than what they're worth anyways, and they'd run into the same issue if they went after Klingberg/Jones the following summer. At least in the case of Hamilton you're gonna have a top-10 defenseman in hockey on the right side for at least half the contract

If I were Dubas, I'd take that and announce no refunds.
While Nylander has impressed me this post-season (actually threw some checks on purpose) I'd still rather Konecny for the attributes listed.
