Retaining on ADA is pointless since his buyout coat less. He is also the last player Ottawa wants

I think the point of this deal, from the Rangers' perspective, is to get someone dumb enough to fight Tom Wilson six times a year.

I'm writing it as if Ottawa will play Deangelo, because they have a history of giving second chances to offensive defensemen who can't find their own end with a map. And as for whether a team will take a guy who beat up his goalie, this would be the trade.

Ottawa has spent years trying to fix the culture in their room, and they finally have group that clearly likes each other, and want to win for each other. Adding a volatile asshole with a history of disrupting his own locker room puts that all in jeopardy, and the upside on DeAngelo is completely offset by the fact that he's abysmal defensively.

I mean, look who they'd be giving up, though. A volatile a*hole. With a history of disrupting his own home. If they like him, great. Too bad for the Rangers, though.

The trade is bad, but the reasoning is laughable, an easy no from Ottawa

Look, there's a real discussion to be had there, but this probably isn't the place, and I'm definitely not the guy. I won't try to absolve him or minimize what he did, but for what it's worth (more than any outsider's opinion), if you Google Austin Watson Girlfriend you'll find articles detailing his girlfriend's side of events. She paints a different picture than the one that you see.

Moving on from that, by all accounts everyone in the locker room seems to love the guy. Pretty well every comment I've seen from teammates this season have been praising his work ethic and leadership, and about how they love that they have a guy who will stick up for his guys.

I'm pretty ambivalent about him as a part of the Sens, but at the very least he's not done anything to actively make things worse since he's been here.

I'll have to read that, after I finish War and Peace, which I am also going to start, one of these days.

There’s no way we touch Deangelo. I don’t think any NHL team will
