beauvillier is the isles only top 6 forward under the age of 25, there's almost no chance they trade him unless its a significant overpay.

Totally agree. But what do you think the Isles will pay him and who do they move out in order to afford it?

If Seattle is passing over better players to take, for example, Paul Byron the Islanders will have no problems with the cap...

My guess is the Isles move out another 1st or a 2nd and a prospect (like Bellows) this offseason in order to offload Ladd's contract and maybe some other contracts. I'd be super surprised if they don't keep Beauvillier around.

I think they will trade varlamov (5 mill cap hit) because of the emergence of sorokin. They could also use a buyout on one of clutterbuck/komarov. I think beau will get something like 4.5-5 mill x 4-6 years

Man the goalie sweepstakes this offseason (Rask, Ullmark, Grubauer, Mrázek, Andersen, Driedger, Bernier) will be even more exciting if Varlamov enters the mix, and I think you're right if they're going to maximize his value do it now after this season.
