Canes take Cossa if he's still on the board that late in the first round. Duke wouldn't be the best fit because we have taken a forward in the first round the last 4 years in a row (Jarvis, Suzuki, Svechnikov, Necas).
If Clarke was somehow available at number 8, I could see St. Louis jumping up to draft him. Either way, think Blues go defense here and not another winger like they have the past few seasons (Neighbors, Bokk)

Interesting thought, as a Kings fan. I could see a trade centered around Vince Dunn and a pick swap happening if this scenario were to play out. I wonder what the other pieces would need to be.
Out of curiosity, what are you expecting the Blues to do for the expansion draft?

I could see a Dunn deal in the mix if Clarke would be available. I doubt he will, but who knows.
As far as Blues expansion, tough to say. I honestly see them leaving one of Faulk/Krug exposed because no one will take those contracts. No one would take Schenn's either but the Blues will protect them. Tarasenko is the wildcard. I can see the Blues not protecting him because of salary and injuries. They'll protect Sundqvist and Barbashev.
ROR, Schenn, Perron, Sundqvist, Barbashev, Thomas, Kyrou if not protecting Tarasenko. If they do, swap Barbashev for Tarasenko. Defense should be Parayko, Dunn, and Faulk. Leave Krug exposed in my opinion.

If Detroit doesn't take Wallstedt at 7th or 8th, Then there's noway Cossa falls to Carolina either Edmonton or Detroit would snap him up earlier in the 20's
Eklund is going to be a winger in the NHL and since Detroit doesn't need any more wingers I can't see them taking Eklund. If this is how the start pf the draft goes at #6 I'm pretty sure Detroit takes Edvinsson.
