Thinking about the Offszn

Description
Just like Brodie was almost traded for Kadri and ended up signing as an UFA, I could see the same happening with Larsson. Apparently We almost traded Connor Brown for Larsson at the deadline a couple years ago, but it fell through. Larsson could probably balance out to be a great number three/four defenceman if he's not being relied upon as the one/two like he has in Edmonton for years now. Holl keeps burning out at the end of every season, as much as I like him in the first 30 games we should look to upgrade on him.

Really hope Hyman is brought back, he is lowkey the heart of the Leafs.

Galchenyuk would benefit further with an offseason working with the dev staff. I really like his floor, but it's the player he was that we've seen flashes of that is really worth keeping around.

Hopefully Spezza comes back for one more season to chase 1000 points.

Rittich looked decent behind a crappy Calgary team, behind the Leafs next season as 1B he could be good, but I really wouldn't mind any goalie for 1B, doesn't need to be him.

Nash is a good forward for a contender to have. Wouldn't mind bringing him back to make the bottom six even better defensively.

Robertson, Anderson, Brooks, Malgin, Sandin, and Liljegren are all due for permanent promotion until further evaluation. These are all guys who are due for 15ish games to show what they have.

Semyonov/Steeves/Kivihalme are just throw ins for the extra skaters.

I feel like Holl at $2 mil is a better option than Larsson at $5 mil. Larsson is better IMO, but not $3 mil better. Isn't it more effective to keep Holl and use the payroll flexibility elsewhere? That bottom 6 could use a bit of love...

just an fyi, nobody's gonna give up anything for your reserve list guys. maybe if a team really likes one of them they give up a conditional 7th for him that probably winds up not getting transferred

The bottom six doesn't need to score with what we have in the top six. It just needs to have guys who can shutdown other teams' scorers while occasionally finding the back of the net. The personnel reflects that.

You lose any of Nylander, Marner, Matthews or Tavares and you're absolutely d1cked. Not that I don't enjoy seeing Spezza out there, but there's a reason he only plays 11ish minutes a night.

Clearly you haven't watched any games this post season other than maybe the score sheet. Mikheyev, Engvall, Kerfoot, are a big reason for the Leafs success. While I agree Larsson would be much better anywhere else and not in the number 2 d man role, he isn't as much of an upgrade over Holl as you may think. Holl is fine. And for 3 M less I will take him.

Leafs will be counting on having a few veterans taking discounts to play in Toronto next year yet again. Robertson has shown zero reason why he is ready for a top 6 role. I hope he can continue to develop but he is not ready.

Hyman, Galchenyuk, and Spezza can all climb the lineup and fix that. Malgin and Robertson should as well if they are good as expected.

lmao. I like every guy on the leafs, including Mikheyev, Engvall, and Kerfoot. I watch every game, trading them away on an ACGM is just business. Get off your high horse.

This makes no sense, like at ALL.
        1. Trading Holl makes ZERO sense, he is being payed bottom pair defensemen money while being an okay #4.
        2. Trading Engvall Mikheyev also makes no sense they have done a good job in a shutdown role and on the PK.
        3. NOBODY in those reverse list will get ANY Assets, literally NOTHING
        4. I like the idea of moving Kerfoot, Dermott, Petan
        5. Summarize paying an extra 3 million dollars for a tiny upgrade on Holl, which ****s our depth makes NO sense.
