Not for 8 years. If it’s a high cap hit like that it’ll be for 3 or less years (but unlikely), otherwise something like $10.5 x 4 makes sense to me

I doubt it comes to that but your point of them being in a tricky position with him is very valid- a rare scenario where I could understand them overpaying

Imagine them letting him walk (pragmatic)

Then he breaks Gretzky's goal record (tragic)

I bet they could just agree to a 4 x 12 ultimately

But in general a really precarious situation for WSH

It will cost A LOT more for Seattle to take Hagelin because you're not just asking them to take him you're asking them to ignore better options. I'm basing this on the trades made during the Vegas expansion.
