MTL would probably accept. We need a Center with Talent.

Pretty great job overall, just some small criticisms though
    - Ovi probably only gets 3 years
    - Good job with meeting the value, but Batherson is probably untouchable.
    - Anderson isn't the best backup option

Also I feel like people are overrating Kuzy. He's pretty solid and has talent, but also has behavioral issues and is wildly inconsistent. He's a good 2nd line center, that's it.

Not even close to Batherson’s value. Your prospect has a history of concussions, and may not even be as good as Batherson if he makes it, and Eller doesn’t move the needle, he’s 32 and just an average middle6 centre. The Sens have enough of those.

Yeah, if kusnetsov value was based off of just his skill he would be worth more, but because he is such a team cancer his value is less. As a caps fan It is hard to let kusnetsov go, but I think it is the right move for the team.

lol i dont blame you. Getting a 1c for pennies on the dollar. idk why cap fans are hell bent on trading a great talent for less than market value.

yeah, some people think that kusnetsov is gonna be traded for an all-star but in reality, him being a team cancer brings his value down to the point where that just won't happen.

Duchene got Kyle Turris, Shane Bowers, goalie Andrew Hammond, a first-round pick and a third-round pick...
    b) first-round pick is top-three lottery pick protected; the Senators would receive a conditional first-round pick in the 2020 draft if Duchene signs a new contract with Columbus.
Pageau first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, a second-round pick in the 2020 draft and a conditional third-round pick in the 2022
Coleman Nolan Foote and a first-round pick in the 2020 or 2021
Goodrow first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and forward prospect Anthony Greco.
JT Miller goalie Marek Mazanec, a third-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and a conditional first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. 75gp 13g 34a 47p

i could keep going but i love when people claim a guy is overrated... guy had COVID this year and finished the season w 16p in 20gp. He would be a good 1c or a great 2c. guy in a normal year scores 60-70 points lol HOLY F people love to diminish players on this site

i strongly disagree. "cancer" is a laughable way to describe him. HE missed 1 team meeting since becoming a Capital and BROKE protocol 1 time WITH Orlov Sammy and OVECHKIN lol are those players also cancer? the same NHL protocol that allowed tampa entire team to watch the super bowl in a hotel lobby / conference room? 4 guys were in a hotel room hours after being on the bench inches away from each other. NHL protocol was a clown show. Or is he a cnacer for catching COVID? 33.2m people in the USA did the same thing lol. i love the glorifying / projecting your personal feels on a player

    Kuzy should easily fetch a 1st + B+ prospect / or a player like Monahan + something

players like Kuzy are rarely available and temas that want to win now would offer a nice package to get him

I agree, Kusnetsov, skill wise can be a top line center that gets 60-70 points a year, he is a superstar.

Kusnetsov, isn't a locker cancer, he just continuously screws the team. Before last season he was penalized for using cocaine, and missed a few games, beginning of this year he was at the party with the other 3 russians. Key difference between him and them is that he had previously screwed the team, and he did it again later in the season, he went out and partied and got COVID again. He has tons of skill but he has really bad disciplinary reasons and for a team relying on him to be a Top line center that is a really big issue.

show me the article that says he got COVID the 2nd t ime from going out and partying. i would love to read that one. He did coke overseas during the offseason... he literally got suspended bc the NHL had to not bc it breaks / violates and rules... they dont even test for party drugs.. seems irrelevant. Everyone in the Capitals lockeroom loves him... hardly a cancer unless you have some insider info i dont have?

You didn't know that he got COVID a second time, also I didn't say he was a locker cancer.

I agree with you 100%, He is worth more, but because of the flat cap, you have to find a team that can take on 7.8M in salary for the next 4 years. Also, it depends what direction Washington will take this offseason. After a disappointing playoff run, do they retool or do they think they can still compete. Ovechkin isn't getting younger and will probably want around 10-10.5M x 4 years, Backstrom isn't getting younger either.

I don't think Washington trade Kuznetsov for 2nd round picks, but I don't think the return will be his fair value either.
