Description

For whatever reason, there are rumors about Kadri to NYR in the offseason. I don't really understand it, necessarily agree with it, or want it to happen... but, it would potentially make us a little grittier and harder to play against (though, as we're seeing, it's often for the wrong reasons). Kadri also can win a faceoff, which is largely needed.

If it happens, I assume he and Strome will flip around at 2C and 3C. Both are up for contracts at the end of the season, so let the best man win... I guess?

I understand Chytil still has some good upside to discover, but the "want" to get bigger and harder and compete now will likely push him out. I don't really see a need to keep him if we do trade for Kadri, and I don't think it makes any sense to trade Strome for a similar player but unclear chemistry and weaker stats. COL also upgrades their backup.

I really dont think there is any serious rumours....Avs are in the playoffs and are supporting Kadri, Sakic isnt behind the scenes trying to make a trade for his this offseason right now. Ranger fans are probably speculating bc Kadri got suspended htat Avs will 100% move him.

That being said, the trade is interesting. I think the Rangers take the L on this deal. Avs would take it for the cap savings and getting Georgiev if there is concerns over Francouz health going into next season

I completely agree, it's stupid. Apparently Larry Brooks put out an article about it also in the New York Times. But that guy rarely knows what he's talking about in terms of rumors anyway haha

Yeah I figure the Rangers will lose on it, but really their only needed upgrades are a gritty 3C that can win a face off. Again, I'm sure Chytil will be a 2C at some point in his career, but if the plan is seemingly to stay with Strome, then we gotta get someone else. Maybe add a prospect or picks on either side to even it out a bit

Brooks is a weird one....I remember his article about "Avs havent traded Duchene yet so maybe they will trade MacKinnon" think piece to the Rangers. Hes not the brightest when it comes to the pulse of the rest of the league.

Chytil would be a 3rd line LW for the Avs. Newhook is the 2C long term and Jost is the 3C. Having the option of him as a C/LW would be tempting.

Gotchyah, that's fair. Rangers seem to be forcing him to play center; even when there was an opportunity to play him as a winger they wanted him at center. I think he'd probably do better as a winger. Just no room nowadays on this team

Rangers are big time losers on this trade. Take away Georgiev and add a major piece to the Colorado side and maybe Rangers would listen. Take away Chytil and maybe the Rangers would listen.

do you have any links to this speculation bc I dont think any sort of info like that has come across Avs twitter, which would have been a hot topic of converation.
