canucks pass Miller is not going anywhere.in my opinion

thats gonna be a hard no from me - miller and reilly both at a great price, so you want canucks to retain 2 years on miller and send one of their best D prospects for a year of reilly? meanwhile the 3rd for a 2nd does little to equalize this trade... the 2022 leafs 2nd will probably be 47-62, while the canucks 2021 3rd is 73.

Of course the Canucks pass, this was done from a Leafs perspective and of course you're going to attempt to win the trade. What kind of Armchair GM or actual GM would do otherwise? Olli Juolevi is a fringe Top 6 dman at best, he struggles to defend the rush and lacks durability. This is why he's a 7/8 dman on the above Leafs roster. Jack Rathbone > Olli Juolevi. And with the Canucks losing Edler to FA and age, they're going to need to shore up their Top 4.

Had the Canucks not given away their 2021 4th for another fringe NHL dman in Madison Bowey, I would've swapped out the 3rd for that pick.
