Created by: Blues4Life
Team: 2021-22 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2021
Published: May 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
said he could see a future for Mike Hoffman here with the #stlblues but obviously needs to sit down with him/his representatives to see if there is there a fit.

Also, made comments about being comfortable waiting on Schwartz. I believe he will emphasize offensive firepower if moves are made.

Holy sweet mother of Mary, if your willing to lose Krug for nothing, please send him to MTL and we'll happily pay whatever cost it takes to pay Seattle to not take whichever player your trying to protect but couldn't otherwise in this scenario. cheers

Really hoping that's the expansion protection list, and honestly I'm not sure if Seattle would even take Krug. If they do, cap flexibility would be awesome. If they don't, the forward they take would be pretty easy to replace. Or if they went rogue and took Walman, still have Krug/Dunn/Perunovich in that position.

Mrazek might be trying to cash in on a bigger deal than this... plenty of goalies to look at this offseason though. As long as they find one at a good price I'll be happy.

That Hoffman deal is probably the max I'd be comfortable with. He's basically a hired gun, but can be useful if used properly.

Blues are getting old and slow, and it isn't going to be pretty when the whole team is 35 yrs old and makes 6.5m. I think Dunn already is capable of doing what Krug does; give me the cheaper, younger option and try to take advantage of having a little more cap room to operate.

I wouldn't call it nothing. Cap space is it's own asset these days, plus there's value in the protection spot, i.e. the player that Seattle would've taken if not for him (my money would be on Dunn). Blues signed Krug for free and I'd argue that they have redundancies with LH offensive d-men to the point that some movement of personnel might provide the right spark. That being said, if the Blues trade Krug prior to expansion, they probably lose a forward like Barbashev/Blais and are sitting better than if they protected Krug and lost Dunn, so Armstrong might as well explore his options.

Don't see Seattle taking Krug, they would take Dunn. If Krug gets taken then they have 6.5 mil in cap space. They'll be fine.

I mean if Blais or Barbashev are worth a 3rd rounder, I dont see how the Habs couldnt offer 2nd and a 3rd for the extra compensation for losing Blais afterwards to expansion. Id be ok with that.

Either way, if Krug is the guy STL exposes, id gladly pay a little something for him and give alittle extra to STL for the player who Seattle will have to take in his place.

Blues fans think Dunn is better than what he is for some reason.
