That is a massive over payment for hyman. That’s very expensive 3rd line centre and that 4th line it brutal they’ll get walked all over come playoff time.

1) I watched a lot of Leafs games this year and he's such an effective player - if I had to choose between him and RNH I'd choose him. And the perfect fit for McD. Price here factors in that we would need to pay $1.5M> what Torontos max will be which id presume is $5.5M. Remember, Gallagher got $6.5M in late 2020 as well.

2) 4th lines average ~12 minutes a night, less in playoffs. Glendenning or a mix of players from L3 could balance things out if need be.

3) If I could change anything probably not Korpisalo here, need to look into goalie stats more.

I’m not disagreeing with you that Hyman is good but he’s not 7mil good with a flat cap he’s he might be 5 to 5.5 mil good flat cap but even that’s pushing it he is another guy that can play up and down your top 9. 7 mil is great defensively and score 30 + goals that’s not Hyman. And on your 4th line I understand how much time they play but 12 minutes with the wrong guys will break your game your telling me you’d play your 4th line against Winnipeg’s or Toronto’s or Washington’s or Boston’s or the islanders? My point is they would get ran out of the building just like what happened this year

Yup, Hyman's so solid defensively, can play at a high speed tempo (unlike any other plugs we've put with CMD) and knows where to be around the net. I bet you with CMD he could pot 30, Patrick Maroon got 27 FFS. It also allows you to put Leon on L2 so that would make a huge difference for line matchups overall. 4th line versus 4th line these guys would be fine. Maybe -1 goal differential every two games. The top 3 lines would more than make up for that.

Boston 4th line: Sean Kuraly, Curtis Lazar, Chris Wagner...
