at 4x 10 OV will be the new Marleau and WSH will be the new SJS.
Sticking around to break a record that the league thinks everyone wants to see.....even though he's dead weight and the team is suffering for it.
The term needs to be shorter and the deal for far less.

Why would the Canes want Schultz?

I really struggle to understand why people can't wrap their head around the idea that a trade like that can be made to any team that wants him for that price. I scrolled down, picked a random team, and made the trade. I don't need Canes fans coming in here and telling me that that's the trade that makes everything in this scenario fall apart.

Would be easy to say ‘any team’ in the comments. You shouldn’t struggle. I know life is tough, but don’t make it harder than it needs to be.

One year not at elite production and everyone freaks out. Saying he's dead weight is a complete overreaction, and note that he still scored 24 goals and had 42 points in another shortened season. Not only does his talent command the money and term given, but saying that he is just sticking around to break the record is completely wrong, and it seems a lot more likely he is sticking it out to play with Backstrom, thus why he would do a 4 year deal to sync up with Backstrom. And to say the capitals are suffering because of him is just 1000% wrong.
