Pens - Keeping things Realistic

Description
First thing is first, we are not trading any of the core three. Lets roll with a solid three at center and see what can happen.

As far as Seattle goes, here is who I protect:
7 Forwards - Geno / Sid / Rust / Jake / Tanev / Carter / MCann (This leaves Zuck and Kappy open)
3 Defense-men - Letang / Dumo / MP (Marino and POJ already protected)

Agreed and I believe due to having him for one more year which also aligns with Letang/Geno having one more year you run it back.

Let Seattle take someone expensive like Zucker or MP and use that cap to "add" grit and be ready to beat Isles next season.

I'm confused, if Kapanen and Zucker are both available, why would SEA take Zucker? I don't think that's very realistic haha... you're gonna have to give them something to take the lesser player, who is making more money, on more term!

blueger can get 2 or 2.5, ceci will probably be overpaid by someone next year so he'll likely be gone. there are some decent defenseman on the FA market they can go after on small one yr contracts. i like signing armia instead of raffl. zar might have to be let of as well due to the cap. mccann is another question amrk because he can potentially bring in pick(s) or another player of his caliber or younger (miles wood). we'll see how hex and burke handle this big offszn

they would likely protect kap over tanev. i don't see seattle taking tanev

That works too. It came down to those two for me. I think Seattle takes Zucker anyways lol.

I would be ok with a Miles Wood for MCann swap. With the Raffl one I just tied him to Hextall and I know he plays on edge.

The hardest item for me is filling the 2LW void after Zucker goes to Seattle.

ya i know i like raffl as maybe a taxi squad guy. i think wood plus a pick for mccann. i've seen a lot of coleman signings and he might be their best bet on the FA market. armia is also an option for the right side

This is a decent-good take. CHI didn't want Riikola for free when he went on waivers this season, so I doubt they give a 7th. I think Coleman will get above $3 million, but I like that idea. I think ANA says no to Pettersson as well. For cap reasons, Hexy lets Ceci go for Friedman, and avoids Raffl.

EDIT - Poulin or Legare will get a chance to make it out of camp, and Zohorna and O'Conner will gets looks as well.
