9 players traded is a retool?

3 of your top 6 forwards is a retool?

Not sure about that defense and goaltending? 46mil in your top 6 forwards? Thats alot of offense.

And other than the CGY deal, which never happens, most of those deals are very generous cap dumps by EDM

So you want Seattle to take 3 cap dumps for a second? If it was just one cap dump for a second they might do it but certainly not 3.

If you build with just speed and skill will get physically dominated come playoffs need a mixture in the line up. Not to mention a lot of that physical presence removed is also our pk that was very good. Do have a fantastic pp but when pk is brutal your just giving back any progress pp makes need that balance. I’m not into really any of the trades because of reasons above but will address one of them the flames trade that isn’t only horrific from a value perspective but I’d personally rather have jp in line up over jonny hockey because he has a VERY nice mix of speed skill and size as the season went on and into playoffs could see him adapting on how to use his frame more efficiently in all zones.

I mean i agree but to be fair, Russell isn't exactly a cap dump. His salary is small and he's been underappreciated for a while. He's not bad analytically. He could kind of be for Seattle what Jon Merrill was for Detroit

Detroit declines. Tyler Benson and a 2nd isn't enough to eat ONE season of Neal's contract, let alone TWO.

      3 things.

      1. Francis has gone on record that if you want to dump salary it starts with a 1st round pick. Russell may not be a dump but Kosiknen and Turris are dumps. And Russell does not make up for those two contracts.

2nd, Benson had a very good year, but he is 23 and has played all of 7 games in the NHL. You added him like he is a budding star. Maybe he is but the age and the time he has not spent in the NHL probably suggests he is a AHL star only. The 2nd is 3 drafts away and the Neal contract is 11.5 million. We got a 2nd for Staal for less money, was a position of need and only one year. On top of that he was the only Wing to play all 56 games and was a mentor to a young d core. Can not say the same for Neal.

Just can not see Stevie doing this deal as proposed, as it will take more in a flat cap & lower revenue season.
