Sure we can, at least Dumba anyway. It's called the 4 forwards x 4 defenseman - 1 goalie method.

Neat isn't it.

So they'll expose one of Eriksson Ek, Fiala, Or Greenway.

Greenway....

Eriksson-Ek and Fiala are easily protected over him. Considering one's our best center and the other our second best winger. Greenway for as much as I like him and how much he's grown this year is still just at the end of the day just another middle sixer. Dumba is a top pairing RHS OFD, at least he would be on most teams in the NHL, he's more valuable than Greenway any way you slice it, and you don't just hand those types of defenseman over for free to SEA.

To be clear, I'm not arguing the value of your trade. It's a good return, even if I'm not thrilled with it only being a 2nd, Brännström offsets that and is a really solid prospect that would make for a good Suter replacement. It's fair, even though I think the ask would be likely for Pinto back in return instead.

I'm just disputing the notion we can't go 4x4-1 and protect Dumba. Because we can.

It’s good that it does not matter what you think, Jack Eichel does not get treated within the division anyway. Quantity does not equal quality. When you are acquiring quality you have to give up quality.

Depends really, on what Ottawa would be realistically be willing to part with. Before the season started I'd guess his value was likely around a early to mid 2nd rounder. Now? Probably a low 1st at a minimum. So say a decent to good prospect and mid 2nd/very early 3rd.

For specific prospects we might target in return? Logan Brown, Ridley Grieg, or Roby Jarventie would be my guess. But I'm not certain on how either Grieg or Jarventie are viewed by both the organization and the fans right now, so I could be off on those two.

I think it would take a slight overpay because of his development this year, and we won't sell low on him just because of the expansion draft. But probably something along those lines. Might actually be a little low now that I think about it.

id do like jarventie+ 4th or like Logan brown + 2nd. id be pretty hestiant to move top value for him if i knew the wild were going to expose him to the draft but if there was a bidding war and it got to something like that id be comfortable with it
