That's more than I'd pay for Eichel from MN.

That is the price many Sabres fans want for Eichel, who is younger, better and has longer term than Kopitar...

Then what would the price for Kopitar be then? Greenway is a solid top 9 guy, the first is late, rask is on a bad contract and Addison at his peak is a low top 4 d-man. Is boldy the issue I don't know too much about him?

Better is a subjective term, Kopitar is far superior defensively, has far more playoff experience, and comes in cheaper through this trade to a team who is on the cusp of a legit contender.

Though no way this happens,s to throw Byfield into top-line center duties, and Turcotte in top-6 would destroy their development. This whole process the Kings have been trying is to gradually pivot from Kopitar to the youth movement. They have their pieces now they need to develop and get pieces to support them, this isn't that trade.

Kopitar should get a good return but Addison and Boldy wouldn’t happen. I think it’s either or in that scenario.

Younger and longer term, yes, but Eichel is not better than Kopitar, even at the latter's advanced age.

LA is not trading Kopitar, so any trades are academic.

Kopitar turns 34 years old in about 3 months.

That’s too much for a guy his age. Even when he’s still playing at such a high level.

OP I appreciate the idea here a lot - I've been messing around with similar valuations myself. As others have stated, I think the price is too high for MIN to stomach. Boldy is a top 2 prospect in the Wild org (along with Rossi), so I think the only way he moves would be in a package for a young Tier I guy - i.e. Eichel or Barkov as example hypotheticals. Him and Rossi would be very difficult to move for anything less - i.e. Reinhart, Kopitar.

To be honest, I don't know that the fit is here, because MIN would only be willing to pay less than what LAK would accept - using your package, I think Addison + Rask + 1st is what MIN would offer, but no Greenway or Boldy. That's my sense anyway.

Kopitar like Brown will be a King’s Lifer so seems like a moot point.
