Why on earth would the Ducks even consider that

Why not? They both only have 1 year left. Rakell isn’t vital to ANA (but PIT would like him if we go after Dougie), while Letang could potentially move the needle and allow ANA the chance to see if they’re ready to make a push (hence the conditional pick)

Because the Ducks need futures? because the Ducks were the second worst team in the league? because if they do move Rakell it would be for futures not a washed up injury prone 34 year old, because Rakell is vital to the Ducks. I can keep going tears of joy

Not even considered by the Ducks, Letang does not make them a playoff team and its ridiculous to think he does

Sabres would accept on the basis that they cannot sign Ullmark. He fills the void in net at a fair price for the next several seasons. I would much rather see the Sabres trade for Korposolo out of Columbus but this isn't terrible.

You’re not worth arguing with since you said Letang is “washed up”...considering he’ll likely get Norris votes this year.

Even if he isn't that doesn't dispute the rest of that point even let alone all the other reasons I listed tears of joy

You've realized you're completely wrong and now you're acting like I'm the off-base one, way to cling on to the least important part of my post

Have a good one tears of joy

they don't and neither do the penguins.
      this is trash.

Letang coming back at a much smaller salary in a year is part of what helps fuel this team into a new window.
Watch out for this team when the cap opens up. When Malkin isn't making 10 million and Letang 8. That's when things get interesting again. They have cap then to bring in a new core and these guys are closing out their years in support roles al much lower salaries.
Believe me, 36 year old Letang isn't getting 8 million per. More the 4-5 range on a 1 year deal. You extend that to 4 years and he's down to the 3 range. Malkin in the 4 range. Then you got cap to build.
It doesn't benefit the penguins to move these guys and it doesn't benefit ANA to trade for them.

Fat chance of Letang waiving for a rebuilding team in Anaheim, Even weith Vegas getting rid of MAF it's doubtful they can afford Pettersson long term they are already pretty much up against the cap and still need to replace MAF with a backup and backups any more aren't cheap.
