Giroux and his NMC, Says hell NO to Ottawa. Especially for lesser minutes.

Ottawa is a team on the rise, and Giroux already lives in Ottawa in the offseason. It's not exactly a massive reach to suggest he'd waive for Ottawa. He obviously wouldn't be playing 3rd LW though, he'd be a C on the 1st or 2nd line.

I don't think Philly takes that deal, and I don't think it makes sense for Ottawa to give up what Philly would want. Love Giroux, but he's 33 and a pending UFA. I think Ottawa should pursue him aggressively if he hits free agency, but he's not the guy Ottawa should target this offseason as their big C acquisition.

How bad do you think Giroux is? He's still a great player!



Lol I get what you're saying, but Giroux has a personal draw to Ottawa, plus it wouldn't necessarily be for lesser minutes - this guy just somehow thinks Giroux sucks and wouldn't be playing 1 or 2C. A lot of people are saying the NMC isn't actually the problem, rather the fact that he's not in the final year of his deal yet. Him coming to Ottawa as we get competitive and as his career winds down actually makes a ton of sense, but If it does happen I think it happens next offseason

I get the appeal, but Giroux doesn't really make sense. Sens want a new C, but Giroux doesn't fit the age timeline well enough to justify trading big assets for (not that Philly takes that deal). Also from how it's been spoken of by local media, it seems like Giroux isn't on the radar for Ottawa.

I wouldn't bother signing a 4C either. Nick Paul is a better 4C than he is a 3C. The Sens will get a top six C, so they can start Pinto in a 3rd line role.

Ottawa shouldn't trade for Giroux he's 33 and on the last year of his contract. Also Giroux has no reason to go to Ottawa
