Description
Just trying a team other than the Oilers lol.

Trades were to find some RD but not sure if those are realistic or not. Buffalo could use a forward that can actually score and Timmons is a decent prospect to get back for Rasmus.
Florida actually has a decent surplus of RD and almost feel like Weegar for Graves 1-for-1 even quite even.

IMO you are over valuing Risto and undervaluing Weegar, both by a large margin,

Brossoit as your backup is rough.

I remember him as an Oiler, he was not good.

See some of the comments above about the defense they are both right. Also Girard imo is better when he plays on the right. COL has done Comeau before don’t need to revisit that. Nor do they need to ever visit Gusev, Caggiulla or Chiasson. Applaud you trying a bee team but honestly I think you made the Avs worse especially offensively.

I was just looking at moving a higher AAV guy to help on D. Makar contract I think might even be a little low at 9.5 and MacKinnon is up soon too so needed some cheap depth like Chiasson and Drake but didn’t love those moves.

Just examining the end result, bc this is for fun, right?!?

D is amazing. F is a bit diluted. I could def see Sakic adding one grizzled Vet for Veteranyness, but not all of these guys. Ranta might play tomorrow, and that's huge bc it signals Avs' confidence in him and increases likelihood of him making next year's team.

I don’t think realistically they should trade for either of them. I don’t find Risto all that good especially with a cap hit of 5mil. Weegar is a super solid top pairing guy and Florida probably demands a price the avalanche won’t be willing to give up. Their top 4 is set in stone for awhile, Toewd-Makar, Byram-Girard

I agree on Makar if he gets long term I wouldn’t be shocked if it is $10+. As for the inexpensive depth the Especially at forward they have Newhook, Kaut, LOC, Bowers, and Ranta (who might make his NHL debut in VGK series). All of those guys are better options than dudes like Caggiula and Gusev.
